Comedy Central Cancels Larry Wilmore’s ‘Nightly Show’

Breitbart: Comedy Central has cancelled its perpetually low-rated late-night program The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.

The program, which replaced Stephen Colbert’s Colbert Report at Comedy Central in 2015, will air its last show on Thursday.

“I’m really grateful to Comedy Central, Jon Stewart, and our fans to have had this opportunity,” Wilmore said in a statement. “But I’m also saddened and surprised we won’t be covering this crazy election or ‘The Unblackening’ as we’ve coined it. And keeping it 100, I guess I hadn’t counted on ‘The Unblackening’ happening to my time slot as well.”

Network president Kent Alterman told USA Today that the program’s ratings were the main factor behind the decision to cancel the series.

“Even as the show has evolved creatively … it hasn’t seemed to connect with our audience, which is disconcerting and disappointing to us,” Alterman told the outlet. “When we took a hard look —  especially after the conventions, where we also didn’t see any traction we were hoping for — we didn’t have enough evidence to justify committing to another year.”  MORE

SNIP: You see, it’s not his fault he’s untalented. It’s the ‘unblackening’ that’s at fault.

  1. TV is just more elevator Muzak put to a score of looping degenerate gif’s created by super special derps that spend their days chasing Pokemon Go junk. They also have degrees in dressing up like their favorite ComicCon make believe characters. That’s a sure fire resume staple these days at a Forever 21 job interview. You’re Hired!

  2. Comedy Central should cancel itself. Nothing but a festival of commercials with a bit of pseudo comedy thrown in.

When I lived in AZ, CableOne took out Comedy Central, MTV, TVLand, and some other channels…and nobody cared. Didn’t miss them one bit.

  3. Never heard of this clown. Is this the idiot that bombed at that stupid WH correspondents dinner? Let me guess, he talks about how black he is and he makes tasteless jokes about stupid racist white people like me. Wasn’t funny the first time around, isn’t funny this time. Go get a job “Larry” if anyone would hire you do to anything. I presume he has zero talent.

  4. Canceled? Canceled?? Let me be the first. “It id becaw he done be black mang!” ………………………. RACISM!!!! “Let’s go burn and loot ‘n stuff ‘n thangs!”

  5. well I guess the last 8 years of blacks being hired just because they are black is over in hollywood, huh?

who knew that once obama’s term was up all the black people who were recently hired by the television producers would be shoved back into the shadows by the so called white liberal progressives.

    me, that’s who.

watch them disappear from all the commercials too.

  6. The show was just an extreme left controlled attack on anything conservative. Larry was as unbiased toward conservatives as Hitler was toward the Jews and the writing staff wasn’t any better. The Daily Show is just as bad and really seemed to double down on the progressive push after John “I’m just a comedienne” Stewart left and that was bad enough. I’m sorry to say that after a promising start John Oliver’s show is starting down the same path. Not as blatant as the previous two but getting there.
