Well, Jolene Never Took Her Man – IOTW Report

Well, Jolene Never Took Her Man

Today I learned that Dolly Parton has been married for 50 years.

Although, cynically, the media has been speculating that they have an open marriage. There is absolutely no proof of that, and it’s probably more of a case of the media finding it hard to believe that they can make their marriage work.

They renewed their vows this year.

  1. She still has a fine voice and is still very attractive at 70 years old. Personally, I always liked her voice even better in duets with Porter Wagoner (among others). Amazingly, she can sing now almost as well as she did 50 years ago (this video is from 1967). I hope she and her hubby can keep going together for many more years. She’s done quite well for herself from starting off as a dirt poor mountain gal.

  2. Dolly Parton has been famous for decades, and not a singular nude photo or clip exists of her truly epic, majestic, breasts

BTW – Dolly Parton is the godmother of Miley Cyrus

Dolly Parton is hosting this massive metablog. Plus lots of WOW ME OUT stuff

  3. The reason the marriage has worked is that she married a regular guy. Hubby drove a cement mixer truck for years.

It doesn’t surprise me that marriages between two celebs rarely work. Imagine two egos that big in the same house–a recipe for disaster.

  4. I always thought that “renewing vows” was for old people.

My husband and I just “got married again.” Three times. Three rings. Stood in line with the eighteen year olds and got another license. Three weddings, two states, no intervening divorces.

(Getting a divorce would have been a complicated bureaucratic mess, however.) ….Lady in Red

  5. I think Dolly is great in a lot of ways. 50 Years..wow. my wife and bestest friend made it 26, before a brain tumor took her from me.

we renewed our vows when it obvious that the end was near.

  6. Wow, 50 years. I would have married my bride when she was 13 years old if we were to celebrate 50 (it’ll be 35 years in 2017). But then again her grandmother was only 14 when she got married in Italy.

  7. Gorgeous, talented, with morals, and kindness.
As a guitar player, I respect the hell out of her talent.
Her song Jolene is a finger buster to try to get the rhythm right.
    Good for her.
    Her voice is beautiful
