Five arrested in hunt for Manhattan bombers: Suspected terrorists seized as FBI hunts for men seen on video planting IEDs from a duffel bag filled pressure cookers bombs
Five people have been taken into custody in connection with the Chelsea bombing after the FBI stopped a car on the Belt Parkway near New York’s Verrazano Bridge on Sunday night. The FBI is believed to have called the NYPD for backup after making the highly irregular decision to halt a car on the busy highway. According to state Sen. Martin Golden, this incident is possibly connected to Chelsea, however, that has yet to be confirmed. ‘About an hour ago, the FBI took several individuals into custody on the Belt Parkway in the area underneath the Verrazano Bridge, with a possible connection to last night’s bombing,’ wrote Golden onto his Instagram.
