Virtual Reality Horror Experience Canceled

Called Fear VR, it’s suppose to be the next generation of Halloween scary experiences.  Except, there’s no haunted house or actors jumping out at you.

Instead, customers are strapped into a wheelchair, a  virtual reality set is placed on their heads and they are transported to a creepy insane asylum with a ” telekinetic female inmate known as “Katie,” who has just gone missing.” Participants are provided a “panic button” if the experience gets to be too overwhelming.

At least that’s how it was suppose to work, but Great America and Knots Berry Farm in California has canceled the production due to protest from mental health activists, including Saddleback Church founder Rick Warren.

  1. STFU Rick Warren. Was it somehow being mean to muslims or something?
Maybe if you had paid attention to your own kid instead of being a money grubbing televangelist, he wouldn’t be dead right now. Remember, this guy tweeted out his son’s suicide like some kind of unfeeling robot. Who the fuck does that!?

Damn. Knott’s Berry Farm used to be fun on Halloween.
    So many pussies!!!

  2. I’m not one for the creepy gross aspects of Halloween, Zombie crawls and horror movies. I don’t see the fun about being scared when there is enough scary crap going on the world that is real. I don’t want to see blood and guts and headless monsters.

Mr Illustr8r has had some interaction with VR and it’s…real. It’s hypnotic and occasionally disorienting. I understand companies second guessing maybe virtual reality blood and mayhem my cause someone serious trauma, mentally or physically.

I’m going to go wait for the Great Pumpkin…

  3. We shut down and turn off outside lighting on Halloween so we don’t have to deal with trick or treat kids.
Why should we give kids “free” candy because they are wearing a costume? Just gets them started on how to get “free” stuff. Kids, you want a bag of candy, ask your own parents for it or go buy it with your allowance money.
