I guess the police never went to a club to see a band play.
Milk crates are half the equipment.
NEWSER-
A man was arrested in Polk Country, Florida, Thursday after deputies spotted him riding around town with a dairy crate attached to his bicycle, reports WFLA. Timothy Troller claims he found the dairy crate on the side of the road and attached it to his bicycle— a common modification many cyclists use as a way to add storage to their bikes. Police officers say since the crate had the name of a local business on it, Sunshine State Dairy Farms, the crate belonged to the farm, and Troller was in possession of stolen property. Local sheriffs booked Troller into the Polk County Jail, where he will will face a fine or a short jail stay.
Troller’s official charge: Possession of Dairy Crate. “Those who will go out an steal a milk crate … are the same people who are probably breaking into cars, breaking into your house,” Polk County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Carrie Horstman says. It turns out Troller does have several prior offenses. His grandfather, though, says that doesn’t justify the police taking action on such a “silly” pretext. “Wait until he does something wrong,” the grandfather says. Horstman disagrees, saying: “You know the old rule we always tell our kids: If it’s not yours, don’t take it. Don’t ride around with it attached to your bike.”
Well, at least he wasn’t shit 14 times. I guess I better return those US mail crates.
Shot not shit. Holy crap spell check must have some sort of learning component to it.
Looks like the police PR department strikes again.
What a bunch of asswagons.
I hate cops like this.
I bet the “knockout game” gets much less attention from these police turds.
hahaha, shit 14 times. That would still cure you of your milk crate habit.
BLM, MUSLIMS, ILLEGALS RUN AMOK, ANGRY LGBTS, ETC….
SLOW FCUKING DAY???
Shitwits.
Damn, I have 5 or 6 milk crates in my garage that were picked up over the past 4O years. I’m a career criminal and just didn’t realize it.
Just to be safe, before my house was raided by FBI swat Teams, I made a sizeable donation to the Clinton Foundation, then called Director Comey and explained I didn’t realize those letters were a name of a dairy, I thought they were some alphabetical designations. It was never my intent to illegally attain the crates, I don’t remember where they all came from.
Comey assured me, at worst I was just careless and no self respecting prosecutor would indict me based upon the evidence gleaned by his hand picked 150 FBI political hack investigators. However, his finding in my case doesn’t let others off the hook.
It pays off handsomely when you donate to The Clinton Foundation. Director comey said the murders I committed further solidified his finding of carelessness, particularly since his 150 FBI political hack investigators have found no one that could collaborate the details I gave him. Well, no shit, they’re dead. As he concluded, he assured me he wasn’t a shit weasel.
It pays off handsomely when you donate to The Clinton Foundation.
No Honor, NO Integrity, NO professionalism, No Justice.
Man gets arrested for having a MILK CRATE on him yet Hillary Clinton gets away with grossly breaking federal law and walks scot-free.
WHAT. A. LOAD. OF. F’ING. BULL. 💩.
I’ve had one in the back of my truck and other vehicles for over 30 years. They don’t even make the glass milk bottles that the crates were made for anymore.
The people have lost control of the country, lost to greedy idiots.
and don’t forget the immediate investigation of brad pitt……i mean, what self-respecting Ephrem Zimbalist Jr would NOT want to take Angie’s word for it?????
what???……am i speaking “old person,” again?????…..
sorry…….don’t worry, i won’t be doing it that much
longer……..sigh………..
I used to own a small business and had to pay the deposit on those crates when they get stolen from my loading area. That said,I guarantee there is more to this story. This “gentlemen” was probably well known to local P.D. and more than likely contributed to his arrest in some way,i.e.,mouthed off to the cop or the officer knew he had done something, but didn’t have enough evidence to charge him for it. Still,as reported it seems harsh.
Surprising to see the “I hate cops” etc… rsponses to this. The lack of critical thinking and assumptions are what the mopes do.
The fact is thi mope is a known burglar they have been watching. He was playing cat and mouse with them. He uses the basket to haul away the tools and items he steals from people’s garage, sheds, and work vans. The basket itself is stolen from a local business.
So rather than let him get away with doing a burglary like his father suggested, thet put him to bed before he put a citizen through unnecessary hell. They stopped a burglary from happening and having to chase and fight a known resistor fleeing a burglary.
To people who know whats really going on its called good police work.
Mike Brown, please point out where some one said something deragatory about LEO.
It works the same way for pallets at grocery stores and other businesses as well, especially marked pallets.
He should have told the cops he was in the process of returning it…
I found some of the guys at work using a shopping cart from a local store to move product in the company, and I told them the cart had to go back before someone decided to call the cops over it. If you can identify where it came from, it has to be returned no matter how you acquired it, especially those cheesy coroplast USPS cartons – it’s actually a felony to take them and use them for any other purpose!
Wal-Mart sells milk crates. If you want one, buy one and put your name on it.
What about the “homeless” or bums as we used to call them who use grocery carts to carry around their possessions? These carts from Publix, Winn Dixie, or wherever cost the stores huge amounts of money compared to a dairy crate. We end up paying for these when we buy groceries.
My family owns a dairy that uses milk crates with our name on them. We buy 25,000 a year because they are made very well and people steal them. How could you condone stealing.
Sure it’s just a milk crate it’s not jewelry but they cost 5 bucks a piece. It’s one of the reasons
milk is so expensive.
but did he “intend” to steal it?
intent now carries the full weight of the “fbi” law.
this is not like stealing haitian relief money given to your scam charity, is it?
this is not like substituting diluted aids medicine for the real deal that your scam charity was paid for?
Hard to feel sorry for a guy named “Troller”.
Bad Brad: “Well, at least he wasn’t shit 14 times. I guess I better return those US mail crates. ”
Why do we have to bring obama into everything? I mean this story had nothing to do with him. ;–)
@bill October 3, 2016 at 9:54 am
Well, of course he intended to steal it. He “claims he found the dairy crate on the side of the road and attached it to his bicycle.” Now, if he “found it attached to his bicycle” and simply used it to transport goods of unknown provenance, that would be different. Then he should be named Governor of Florida.
There’s more to this story, for sure. Don’t be too quick to condemn the police on this.
I’ve written “chicken shit” tickets to people who just refused to shut up and take the verbal warning. I don’t disrespect them, yell at them nor am I rude to them. I simply give them the ticket.
Some people just can’t accept being told they are wrong about anything…..
muddjuice – I see your point.
TA good example is the cop who talked to that man-hating feminist Clintonista broad in Calif; he should be given a medal for amazing self-control in the face of extreme assholishness.
The broad in question was driving thru a neighborhood, saw a guy with a Trump yard sign and gave him the finger. The guy got in his car so he could get a picture of her license plate in case she returned later to get out and trespass on his property for stealing, property damage, etc. The broad called 911 and the poor patrolman assigned to talk to the two drivers got a 15 minute roadside harangue from the feminist nitwit.
That’s daily for me. For every one decent person I deal with, there are 10 dirtbags I am forced to endure.
And I work in a smaller community. I can’t imagine New York, Detroit, Chicago, LA, etc…..
Add to that the people who actively hate you and then the crazy ones that want to kill you……
Sometimes, we snap and say rude things. Hey, we’re human. Imagine if every thing you did at your job was recorded and scrutinized under a microscope. Every encounter you had with a customer or fellow employee……
