By The Numbers: The Unprecedented Price Democrats Paid Under 8 Years Of Obama

DC: Democrats have paid an unprecedented price under eight years of President Barack Obama.

When Obama took office in 2009, Democrats controlled the House and the Senate by substantial majorities. Democrats sat in 28 governor’s mansions and controlled nearly as many state houses. And in 17 states, Democrats controlled all three.

“What a difference an election makes,” then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said in his opening speech that year. “Since 2006, Democrats have achieved a net gain of 14 of 14 Senate seats. We return to work for the 11th Congress with a strong majority that will soon reach 59 seats. And just two weeks from today, Barack Obama will become the 44th President of the United States.”

Now, as Obama prepares to leave the White House, the Democratic party’s grip on power is in ruins.

  1. The electoral/political game is virtually zero-sum: collectivists’ losses are individualists’ gains. Good so far as that goes.

The societal game is another matter. Barky and his minions have presided over what is, in my lifetime of 67 years, an unprecedented erosion of civility and respect for our fellow citizens, and an unprecedented rise of a feral urban culture that is tearing and clawing at the structure of many generations that was the the core of the most rapid increase in wealth and well-being ever seen.

So: No thanks for you, Barky.

  2. FTA: The Republican party, on the other hand, is the most dominant it’s been since the 1920s.
The 1920s. The Roaring 20s. Great times for the country. Thanks to conservative Republican Calvin Coolidge. And the vast Republican dominance throughout the country.
With Trump and the Republicans in charge, are we on the way to a Roaring 20s Redux?

  3. Do you remember when James Carville proclaimed that the election of Obama guaranteed that the Democrats would stay in power for forty more years? Kind of missed that mark, didn’t he? It’s also worth noting that Clinton lost control of Congress when Hillary tried to socialize medical care during his first term. Same thing happened when Obama pushed through Obamacare. Some Democrats never learn. Thank you James Carville for being such a worthless prognosticator.

  4. The establishment Republicans don’t appreciate this dynamic and need to be gotten rid of. They have done absolute nothing to further this along. They are an anchor holding the country back.
