- Students at the University of Maryland have released a list of 64 demands in their effort make the campus more amenable to “Marginalized, American Indian, Black, Latinx, LGBTQIA+, Muslim, Pro-Palestine, and Undocumented” students.
- Muslim students, for instance, want “one room in each major building designated for prayer” and “shuttle services to [the local mosque] for Muslim students to have access to a place of worship.”
Oh, that’s all?
Demand #53 calls for the university to actively encourage students to learn about the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement (BDS).
The Pro-Palestine demands are incompatible with the beliefs of the Jewish student organizations on campus, leading the student groups Terps for Israel, the Jewish Student Union, and J Street U to abstain from the project.
Students for Justice in Palestine declined to answer questions from Campus Reform, as did every other organization that was contacted.
Request denied. Now drop and give me 30.
What happened to their demands of separation of Church and State?

Some campuses have devolved into a sketch from Life of Brian where several slightly differently named revolutionary groups sit around and essentially do nothing. I’ll wager that each of these campus groups also has their own Reggie to facilitate writing a generally vague and socially useless manifesto.
I can imagine some of these students sitting around listing their grievances. “What has the University of Maryland ever done for us? Well, education. O.k., aside from education, what has the university done for us. How about student housing, student food services and state of the art classrooms? O.k., aside from education, student housing, student food services, state of the art classrooms, a transit system, easy access to internet, student discounts on most things and the right to complain about everything, what has the University of Maryland ever done for us?”

In the Soviet Union, they regularly emptied the Universities and made them pick vegetables on a collective farm, help remove snow from streets and sidewalks, work for 12 hours a week in a factory to meet quotas or clean up after a natural disaster.
If these sh*tstains want to be Full Fledged Communists, let’s treat ’em as such. Put ’em to work, Soviet Style! And, make the little Bolsheviks wear the red scarves, sing patriotic Soviet songs…. the whole nine yards. Tell them their student loans are rejected. They can pay up on the spot, cash only, full amount of their multiyear tuitions,or they can pack up and go home. Any from other countries will be deported to Iran. There they can be imprisoned and shovel sand for eternity.
