Why, yes – my privilege is showing. And it’s not something I’m trying to hide. I’m lucky in that I was born in the United States, I had two parents who cared about me, and I worked for what I have. I live in a nation that provides lots of opportunities to be whatever I want to be. Things haven’t always been perfect, but if there is a place to recover from life’s rain storms, it’s the United States. This life of privilege is why millions of people from everywhere else want to come here.
