  1. BFH,

I know your secret fantasy is to run a successful dating site, however, I think you should study the idea just a little longer, ponder other alternative outlets for your energy.

    Yours Friend,

    Johnny

  2. Haven’t stripped in public since that night in college… tequila… illegal substances….

Embarrassing it was. Woke up in a sleeping bag laid out over a patch of poison ivy. Not one of my proudest moments. Of course back then I wasn’t 5’5″ and 280 pounds.

  3. OK, full disclosure, at 60 yoa, I do carry more weight than I should. But, as bad as the obesity problem is, the very last think that should be done is normalizing it. I’m not for “shaming” this “girl”, and do feel sorry for her, whether she wants me to or not.

That kind of weight IS a serious health problem and making her feel “OK” about it, and accepting it are dooming her to a short life of poor health in my opinion.

  4. That reminds me of a series of short stories a guy, no longer among the Destroyer ship’s crew, wrote in the electronics division log book. The stories were about an orphan girl, I wish I could recall her name as it added to the fun of the stories. Anyway, she was 4′ 5″, weighted 500#, and she was captain of the orphanage poll vaulting team. Everyday when she laid down to sleep she would roll away into some new land and bizarre adventure, that were quite creative stories.

  5. “Poor fool. Even the most ridiculous of us, physically, can live with dignity”

Nobody needs to live that way. The fix starts with very small life style changes. Small changes are the start to life changing opportunities. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain. And the clock is ticking.

  6. Never underestimate the power of an overweight person that’s backs to the wall. I’ve seen some damn inspirational shit take place in the gym by some very courageous people. It’s pretty fing easy if you’re already in shape. I’ve always admired the battle presented, and how people meet, face, that battle that don’t look like a super model. That is power.

  7. Who gets so hot and bothered to go protest “taxpayer advocacy and the debt burden” lecture?? Must have A LOT of free time, or this is their paying job – yet obviously not a taxpayer.
