A high-level whistleblower has told this newspaper that America’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) breached its own rules on scientific integrity when it published the sensational but flawed report, aimed at making the maximum possible impact on world leaders including Barack Obama and David Cameron at the UN climate conference in Paris in 2015.
The report claimed that the ‘pause’ or ‘slowdown’ in global warming in the period since 1998 – revealed by UN scientists in 2013 – never existed, and that world temperatures had been rising faster than scientists expected. Launched by NOAA with a public relations fanfare, it was splashed across the world’s media, and cited repeatedly by politicians and policy makers.
But the whistleblower, Dr John Bates, a top NOAA scientist with an impeccable reputation, has shown The Mail on Sunday irrefutable evidence that the paper was based on misleading, ‘unverified’ data.
It was never subjected to NOAA’s rigorous internal evaluation process – which Dr Bates devised.
His vehement objections to the publication of the faulty data were overridden by his NOAA superiors in what he describes as a ‘blatant attempt to intensify the impact’ of what became known as the Pausebuster paper.
His disclosures are likely to stiffen President Trump’s determination to enact his pledges to reverse his predecessor’s ‘green’ policies, and to withdraw from the Paris deal – so triggering an intense political row.

Historically weather is cyclic. you cannot cry global warming over a ten year or even over a hundred year cycle. Our planet doesn’t react that fast. Ends up this is going to be just another money grab.

I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know global warming is not true. Al Gore is kicking back in his huge mansion from the $$ he made off it.
Whistleblowers who expose fraud in government get a percentage of the fraud uncovered. I hope a few people in EPA and other agencies come forward exposing the leechy left and its criminals.

Humans were put here by God to release CO2 into the atmosphere to feed His plants. Of the CO2 God provided for plants, six-thousand times the amount remaining in the atmosphere has been sequestered in calcium carbonate, (e.g. limestone,) deposits. The tiny amount of CO2 contained in hydrocarbon fuels is adequate in the short term, (i.e. a few million years,) to provide for the nutritional needs of plant tissue, but the ongoing sequestration of CO2 into calcium is a problem which will need to be halted at some point.
Another issue to be addressed is the sequestration of O2 into the oceans by proton radiation from Earth’s neighbor, Sol. Said O2 is locked by protons into the relatively stable chemical, H2O, which experiments at a research center in Southeast Cuba have shown to be unbreathable by human test subjects.
Global Warming, Climate Change, Climate Disruption – whatever they are calling it this week – is what happens to a live planet. If the climate didn’t change, if it didn’t warm or cool, or if it didn’t have periodic disruption, the planet would be D.E.A.D. It would be a sterile rock floating in space.
And “settled science”? We’ve had that before. Remember how long people thought Earth was flat? And the scientists of the time thought that Earth was the center of the Universe. The ‘settled science’ was wrong for over 1,000 years. So, lefties, how dear is your current ‘settled science’ today? Hummmmm?
I suspect they are spending billions in taxpayer money so that they can reap millions off of their “green” investments.
If Global warming were indeed real, then the continent of Antarctica can be explored and colonized, Greenland can be Green, Siberia and Northern Canada can feed the growing population and be opened up for the resources unattainable due to the short seasons.
Global cooling is far more dangerous.
