U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: ‘Significant Environmental Damage’ Possible from Dakota Pipeline Protest Camps

(CNSNews.com) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issued a press release on Feb 3, announcing that Dakota Access Pipeline protest camps must be closed to prevent “injuries and significant environmental damage.”

The Corps issued notices to protestors, informing them that the federal government will shut down their camps, adjacent to North Dakota’s Cannonball River, on Feb. 22. The government must clear the protestors’ trash and debris before the temperature rises in the spring.

“Because of record snowfall and long periods of frigid temperatures,” the press release states, “there is a high potential for flooding at the mouth of the Cannonball River from spring runoff and ice jams.”

The Corps’ statement warns of the danger of “injury or death” for those remaining in the floodplain, and of the “environmental risk to the river and lake from the significant impacts the protest camps have made on the land. Without proper remediation, debris, trash, and untreated waste will wash into the Cannonball River and Lake Oahe.”

  1. Why are the demmie/greenie people the dirtiest, stinkiest people you will ever meet? And why when they gather together do they create a massive cleanup effort that others have to do.

The authorities know who was there. It is not the taxpayers job to pay for this effort. Charge the leaders and groups that caused the mess. If they don’t pay, THEN I will be glad to pay for them. In a prison stamping plates until the bill is paid.

  2. its always nice and clean before they arrive BUT afterward its a dump no matter where they go– Protest wall street in the parks-a dump later- protest in Seattle- broken windows and trash–etc…. 🙁

  3. Everything the left touches turns to sh*t, whether it’s an issue of policy or crowding together in a city — or a pipeline protest. Everything. The collective cannot take responsibility for an aggregate of individual acts. It is anti-American from top to bottom. Why can’t they all go to a country that already has all their socialist/communist needs in mind?

  4. Has nobody been on a reservation in South Dakota?

This is a pretty typical example of how they care for their sacred lands.
You will be hard pressed to find a photo of this trash since the natives are a protected class but take my word for it, shit gets stacked up until a windstorm or flood takes it away.

  5. A friend of mine works for the company that is building the section of pipeline in question. They told me that the order came down today that all of the company owned vehicles must have the company logo removed because of the threats from the leftists.
