Capitol Hill Conservatives Welcome Speaker Paul Ryan’s Ryancare Retreat

BigGovernment: Capitol Hill conservatives took satisfaction in Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) decision to withdraw the American Health Care Act from the House floor Friday afternoon—minutes before congressmen were to vote on the bill crafted to rescue the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Obamacare.

“I applaud House conservatives for keeping their word to the American people and standing up against Obamacare Lite,” said Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)—the sponsor of his own bill, the Obamacare Repeal Act, S. 554, which is the same legislation, with an updated timeline, to repeal major components of Obamacare that every Republican in the House and Senate voted to pass in 2015.

That bill was written and sponsored by Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), then the chairman of the House Budget Committee, now the secretary of Health and Human Services.

“I look forward to passing full repeal of Obamacare in the very near future,” the senator said.

Paul authored the free-market-based Obamacare Replacement Act, S. 222. This bill removes the Essential Health Benefits provision of Obamacare, expands what is permitted for the Health Savings Accounts, allows Americans to buy insurance across state lines, and allows Americans to form their own insurance buying pools.

No man is more responsible for the House Republican leadership pulling the Ryancare bill off the floor than Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus. Meadows weathered incredible pressure from the White House and the Speaker’s team, but he would not give up on changes the HFC needed to have in hand before they swung around the over 25 solid No-votes the caucus whipped.  more here

  1. I look forward to passing full repeal of Obamacare in the very near future.

If this is really true then, OK I’ll wait, But they should still de-claw the penalty aspects of JEF-Care.

  2. “Replace” Obamacare = The tentacles of Big Government refuses to release burdensome, costly and faulty Healthcare for Americans.
If one size fits all and it’s so damn great why is Congress, their staff, Unions and so many others exempt?

This is not the role of the federal Government.
“Repeal” this unconstitutional power grab by an oversized, patronage laden, corrupt and indebted federal government.

  3. Not until we pull the politicians from the teats of the insurance, lawyer, and other opportunistic, self-serving parasites will we get laws that benefit the citizens, not those who pay the skanky solons for them.
Lawyers and Insurance companies, if there are other more self promoting individuals who make sure through laws they will remain employed and profitable, irrespective of their performance, I don’t know who they are.
Ryans bill was written to keep the insurance and tort companies making mo money.
Get the gubberment out of the business of ensuring a companies profits and let them sink or swim.
Ryans gotta go, they had 7 years to figure this shit out, failed miserably.
Insurance should be something you were willing to pay for, not something you have to pay for, at the point of a metaphorical gun.

  4. Grool I can’t stop laughing!
I like Ted Cruz’s idea of Mike Pence as the President of the Senate he should exert his power to overrule the Senate parliamentarian
then Pence can rule on what is ok with reconciliation and what is not.
    thus destroying Obamacare.
Wait for it….. let the name calling commence!
Only Democrats have the balls to go Nuclear or to play the system.
Time Republicans play fire with fire.
    Question to all readers:
If a person does not pay taxes and receives a tax credit (money taken from a tax paying citizen)would you call the tax credit an entitlement?

  5. The media are claiming this is a victory for Obama and a failure and crash and burn for Republicans.
    I disagree.
This was a complete failure for the Establishment RINOs and a victory for the people and conservatives.

  6. Oct 11
    Donald J. Trump‏ @realDonaldTrump
Disloyal R’s are far more difficult than Crooked Hillary. They come at you from all sides. They don’t know how to win – I will teach them!

  7. @ beachmom, We are simpatico there, as I noted above, this bill was designed solely to please the insurance and legal industries, nobody else.
It’s time our lawmakers were weaned, buncha greedy babies throwing a fit on the floor of Walmart.
Got their pants pulled down on the mall and their ass’ spanked, they are still not getting it.
The internet has changed all the old rules, we are now able to see instantly who is helping themselves and it sucks to be them now.
Being held accountable for the shit sandwich, what a concept.

  8. @JTucker,

Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), I consider it an entitlement

This was a great win for us. The left, NT and MSM are simply stuck on stupid. How on earth do you think we can get the better bill without first letting the dream of RyanCare and the establishment GOP public ally fail? They were so sure they had the answer, and Trump (we) were more sure they were wrong…now they know it too.

Get on the Trump train or get run over 🙂

  9. Repeal ObolaCare.
    In its entirety.

Take the necessary steps to guarantee that a free and fair insurance market is available to the American people.
Minimize the socialization of medicine to cover the pre-existing conditions.
Fuck the illegal-alien-invading-rat-people; let them find medical care back in whatever country they came from.

Other than that – get the FedGov out of medical care – there’s plenty of other stuff they can fuck-up.

Simple solutions for simple problems. The maggots in politics try to make everything convoluted so that the electorate finally throws up their hands and lets them do as they please – which is ALWAYS contrary to the American peoples’ interests – and steeped in corruption and graft.

    izlamo delenda est …

  10. I’m a little confused. The story mentions that Mark Meadows “endured incredible pressure from the Whitehouse” and deserves the credit for the withdrawal of the bill. I thought that Trump didn’t want that bill and wanted a repeal of Obamacare.

  11. Just so everyone understands correctly. Thanks to the failure of certain Republicans to pass the American Health Care Act which would have provided immediate relief to MILLIONS of Americans, the Obamacare Individual Mandate is still FULLY in force and codified by IRS law. In addition, the Employer Mandate is still FULLY IN FORCE and codified by IRS law. So, we will still be a “Part -Time” nation until at least 2019. There is a REASON both the Individual and Employer mandates were “zeroed out” and set to be repealed in the AHCA. It’s because President Trump’s executive order is just that, an order, it is NOT codified law. The AHCA would have ensured that his order became codified law and that the IRS code was permanently changed officially so that no one ever pays those penalties again. Also, for the 19 million Americans who have to purchase their own health insurance, be prepared for premium increases of at least 50% next year, if you can find a health plan since there is now only ONE carrier left to ‘choose’ from in 1/3rd of our nation’s counties. Buy hey, what do I know? I’ve only been doing this for 21 years. I’m sure the “Freedom Caucus” knows better than I do. Keep waiving those flags everyone, forget about ADVANCING them. I will stand with the Freedom Caucus!!!
On LinkedIn you only have High School listed under education?
Did you graduate from a college? Not that it means anything but you like to call me and many readers of this website stupid.
please tell us where you went when you graduated and with what degree.

  12. I thought that the Secretary of health and Human Services, by statute, has the power and authority to determine (amend) the proper course of most of the activities listed in Obamacare. Why doesn’t he get busy and do what the legislation allows him to immediately do!
