Ian Millhiser, the “justice” editor of Think Progress, has a pinned tweet that says-
Amendments, ranked:
14th 13th 15th 19th 1st 24th 4th 5th 6th 8th 26th 16th 17th 21st 23d 7th 12th 25th 20th 9th 3d 27th 11th 22d 18th 10th 2d.
State’s rights are low on his list, the right for the federal government to tax you ranks high. Hilariously, the 2nd is ranked last.
This is odd because if we accept the left’s definition of 2a, that the people shall only have the right to bear arms as part of a militia during war, he still ranks this last. That’s a bit queer, no?
“We’re being attacked and you want our citizens to have guns? Phuck that!!!!”
Me thinks he does know the real meaning of the second amendment, that’s why it’s ranked last.
Here’s a quick explanation of each amendment (not they are fantastic definitions, it’s just to refresh people’s memories) from TotallyHistory.com
ht/ Annie

What a fool.
izlamo delenda est …
What is the purpose, what is to be gained by the ranking of amendments? This is virtue signaling at its worst.
Every amendment 17th and above should be scrapped, except the 22nd, limiting presidential terms. And the 27th.
Just one more liberal idiot. 😡
Actually 16th and above with previously noted exceptions.
Ian, thanks for your ranking.
We really appreciate your opinion.
Now fuck off.
4th Amendment: Citizens cannot be forced to subject themselves to seizure and search without a search warrant and probable cause.
Tell me, what ‘probable cause’ does the TSA have to search anyone that does not exhibit Muzzie characteristics?
11th Amendment: State sovereign immunity. States are protected from suits by citizens living in another state or foreigners that do not reside within the state borders. Ratified: Feb. 7, 1795
So, when Obama sued states other than the District of Columbia, he was unconstitutional?
Yeah, I know… never mind.
I fixed it for you:
2nd Amendment: Guarantees the people’s right to own and bear arms for their defense – AGAINST A TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT.
The TSA doesn’t need probable cause, Claudia. Air Travel is not, ‘a right.’ If one wants to fly, they subject themselves, of their own free will, in order to fly. If one doesn’t want to be subjected to the TSA, it is their right to find another form of transportation. (I hope that doesn’t sound argumentative, because that is not my intent.) There is no 4th violation when you agree to the search in order to fly.
The Constitution was written by men who have forgotten more than this jerk knows,
or may ever know. the Republic form of government is good because all the idiots identify themselves.
Without the 2nd no others possible.
I read an interesting article a while back the made a good case for stop using the 2cnd as a right to own a gun. Instead make the argument about the God given right for personal defense.
And the only reason he can say it is because of the people who rank it much higher.
@BigGun, thanks. That makes sense.
The concept of a general ranking of the amendments is fundamentally a collectivist / anti-individualist trap, and a rights-destructive use of time. How each of us individually value each amendment will depend on our personal circumstances at the time of the ranking, and will certainly change over time.
If they believe in the 8th they should STFU!
“Think Progress” is like “Grape Nuts”, which contains neither grapes or nuts.
It’s amusing he puts the 17th vaguely in the middle. It’s like he doesn’t understand what that did in his favor. After all, that’s the amendment that remade the Senate and turned on the floodgates of power going to Washington.
Please, douche-listicle, rank the Ten Commandments for us next. And then the five pillars of islam.
This is the same clown that tweeted that no one should ever, ever (repeated 7 or 8 times) consider Gorsuch a legitimate member of SCOTUS..
Why do we waste our time giving these people the attention
they so desperately seek?
He needs to think again.
@Herd Mentality – what do you mean “again”?
Just reminded me to oil my guns.
Ranking the amendments is like ranking which stone is most important in an arch. Take any of them out and none of the others would be of much value. This at least applies to most everything before Prohibition.
