Arkansas Housecleaning On Hold, For Now

A judge has stopped Arkansas’ plans to execute seven death row inmates this month. The state wishes to dispatch these individuals before their supply of one of the drugs used for lethal injection expires.

The first executions were schedule for Monday, but will have to wait now for the state supreme court to hear an appeal to lift the stay based on the argument that Judge Wendell Griffen should be disqualified to rule on the matter. “Local media outlets had tweeted photos of Griffen at a demonstration held by execution opponents outside the Governor’s Mansion earlier Friday.”

  1. The ghost of Judge Isaac Parker walks the streets of Little Rock shaking his head and wonder how the people of his state lost their burning desire for justice and peace.

  2. Why not just buy a hyperbaric testing chamber from the Air Force. These are the ones that recruits are put through to test their reactions going from high air pressure to low air pressure of the type you may get many thousands of feet up. You don’t even realize it’s happening until you get a little light headed, a happy kind of drunk feeling that last for a few minutes then you slip into unconsciousness and finally die a few minutes later. It’s a happy way to go, it’s been tested (not to death of course), thousands of times and the results are always the same, euphoria, loss of consciousness and finally death, It’s safe foolproof and no lawyer can argue it’s cruel or unusual a punishment.

  3. OK then. The bleeding hearts don’t like those meds? Fine. Use the stuff they put horses down with. Or, better yet, dispatch them the same way they dispatched their victims! Or, maybe it’s time to ask the anti death sentence folks if maybe they’d like to free up the criminal by trading places???
