Schumer Under Investigation by Turkish Prosecutors

milo-

A Turkish prosecutor is reportedly investigating 17 Americans, including Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer, for alleged ties to a failed coup in the country last year.

As The Independent reports, this investigation comes as Turkey embarks on a referendum expanding Turkish President Erdogan’s powers.

The Independent also states that, in addition to Sen. Schumer, the investigation includes former CIA Director John Brennan, and former CIA Deputy Director David Cohen.

Istanbul’s Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is reportedly looking into those individuals’ meetings in Turkey between July 15 and July 17.

They’ll also be investigating alleged ties between those individuals and Fethullah Gulen, a Pennsylvania-based man who The New Yorker reports was the “mastermind” behind the failed coup.

  1. I think that the “failed” coup was engineered by Erdogan’s own people to cement his hold on increasingly tyrannical power and to flush out all his possible enemies. If Schumer had any sort of hand in this then all the blood that came from it and continues to flow from Turkey’s prisons and torture chambers is on his hands and he ought to be kicked out of the Senate. I know this sounds wrong but I hope they find evidence that Schumer and Brennan participated in some way without the knowledge of Obama. I say that because then it would be easier to cut them loose and having Obama as an enemy especially if you’re a democrat is a very bad thing.

  2. Erdogan’s now an absolute ruler. Turkey’s strategic to our interests and our allies’, especially if our frenemyship with Putin goes sour.
He just might feel High-T enough to cause Schmuckles some real headaches.

    Popcorn.

  3. And considering how frequently high elected officials meet sudden deaths in most of the world, it’s remarkable how an unspoken invisible truce protects D.C. Congressmen and politicians from both Arkancide and street corner assassinations, no matter how unpopular (or hated) or how lucrative their demise for powerful interests.
Been a long time since JFK. Justice Scalia and Seth Rich are hopefully not a new trend.

  4. You know, Mr. Istanbul’s Chief Public Prosecutor Man, the vastly righteous, rule of law abiding, United States government has proven, time and time, and time and time, and time and time and time, again, that the only way to “discover” the truth is to set up a big theater full of popular propaganda cameras, and have your mostest famousest people’s representatives, ask “witnesses” to swear under oath — because nobody can lie under oath in front of the divine gaze of popular propaganda cameras — what they knew and when they knew it. You might just have to extradite the whole lot of — alleged — co-conspirators, to give them the “opportunity” to clear their names, under oath. Best file the paperwork, now. You know Schmuckles is going to claim it’s every Americans patriotic duty to avoid extradition by every means possible. It might take a while.
