Is It Because He’s Black?

I read a story on a site we won’t be linking any longer (because their lawyers sent us a take down notice when I published a story of theirs with a different take. They touted a story about a guy that changed genders three times as simply wonderful, and I posted it as a classic example of mental illness.)

So now I will simply describe their idiotic stories and not mention them or give them traffic.

This time these Brit bints publish an “inspiring” story about a couple who left a note for an Atlanta Falcon player they sat behind. They were gushing and falling all over themselves to let him know how

much of a role model he was because he, get this, studied his plays and ordered healthy food.

Wow. He’s a regular Albert Schweitzer.

I can’t help but picture 2 progressive parents who were absolutely amazed that a black guy was so civilized and integrated into human society and not grooming and picking bugs off the people seated next to him.

How in the world was this guy so “inspirational”? He did nothing that any other person on a plane does. Read. Eat. Say thank you.

This is a classic example of the soft bigotry of low expectations, and this publication would be sending me a another take down notice if I linked or mentioned them, because they cannot stand that I angle shoot their stories in a way that turns them on its head.

  1. LOL. “Elite hockey team” Mom either thinks she talking to or about another 10 year old, is shocked a black guy is doing something ‘right’, or she thinks everyone in the NFL are so stone age she’s shocked to see one behaving ‘politely’. Because, you know, she’s an “Elite hockey team” mom and is surprised that guy is acting so “elitely”.

  2. She had only bragged about the elite hockey team son 25 times so far that day and she thought he probably hadn’t heard her mentioning it to the passenger next to her 10 times. “Elite” is code for “your child has no chance in hell of making it but we have a coach and a facility that will cost you $1000 per month”. Is 1000 elite enough or should it be 1500?

This definitely put a smile on my face. ☺️ the little things.

The main character appreciates the soft bigotry of low expectations. The media trips over themselves at the opportunity to put it on display.

  4. Wow, how insulting. It’s like they’ve seen them on TV but the first time they’ve seen one in the wild. I’m sure she thought that letter relieved her of all white guilt.

  5. All I saw was terrible handwriting and the word “healthly” instead of healthy (or healthful). This was a way this elite parent could have something go viral and putting her son on display. And you are right, BFH, if she had written this to a white player, nothing would have been made of it. Raaacccissstt.

  6. I’m definitely going to stay tuned for future skewering of The Whaley. You know you’ve made a bit of a splash with that stone in their pond.

After that note hit twitter, mom must have been so proud of herself for doing a Good Thing. There must be something in the water in CT (but it only works on some people. NOT Mr P 🙂 )

  7. Love the Albert Schweitzer reference. American culture is going down the drain because of the soft bigotry of low expectations as well as people sharing every little piece of minutia.

  8. MJA, so this is from them? I was banned from commenting on their site because I wrote “Dindu” (that was all I wrote) as comment on an article about a death row prisoner. Next thing I know there was an email telling me that me and my kind were not welcomed in their site. Haven’t read them ever since. Pretty sure they don’t miss me, but the feeling is mutual. So there! LOL!

  9. By the time the “Elite” son is done being on the “Elite” hockey team, the family will have blown $100,000 bucks traipsing around the country and into Canada. They will sit on cold bleachers in cold arenas, eat fast food, and sleep in motel rooms far from home. The kid will have nothing to show for it except for maybe a few missing teef. “Elite” indeed!

The family fawns all over a black football player, yet their spawn plays the whitest sport in the world-Wassupwithat?

  10. I had to take a 13.5 hour plane trip and the smelliest Muzzie sat next to me. The moment the seat buckle sign went off I searched for another seat on the plane. The guy cleared the row out.
    I should’ve left a note: “take a bath”.
