Gun store owners and their staff are in my experience the most equipped retail merchants I know to handle an attempted robbery. In particular, they’re equipped mentally. With this kind of publicity, I almost hope that a lot of ISIS mohammadmen try this tactic because I’m quite confident they’d suffer, shall we say, a high attrition rate.

We’re a manufacture not a Brick and Mortor gun store but I’ve made a lot of friends that own brick and mortor gun stores and have help cover the counters when they are busy. They ALL have closed circuit cameras all over the store and monitors some where beneath the counters. Perfect visibility of what’s coming through the front door. Gun stores also have very defined shooting lanes defined by display structures and sometimes ceiling pillars. Advantage gun store employees.
Yup, if I was going to rob somebody, I don’t think it would be a gun store.
