Big Squaw leads charge to stockpile federal data on students, track after graduation

EAG: WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts is leading efforts to roll back student data privacy protections in exchange for more detailed information on student outcomes.

Warren is teaming with Rhode Island Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, Utah Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch, and Louisiana Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy to push the College Transparency Act of 2017, which would task the National Center for Education Statistics with coordinating with other federal agencies to stockpile student information.

The legislation would overturn a ban written into the 2008 reauthorization of the Higher Education Act that specifically forbids a federal data system to track students, Inside Higher Ed reports.

Warren and company contend the move would allow federal officials to better track how students perform after graduation, and provide that information to parents shopping for schools. They contend the institutional level data available now isn’t good enough.  more here

  1. So, the woman who falsely claimed Native American ancestry to get a job at Harvard wants to track college students to assess a school’s value.

Maybe it’s the profs who need to be tracked after hiring.

  2. Building the federal bureaucracy with positions of no productive worth. Big Government boondoggle.
More worthy would be to track and investigate the progressive, socialist, marxist and communist Professors.

  3. Of course you know that squaw is an Algonquin Indian word meaning vagina, which is politically incorrect today. So that makes Fauxahontas a pussy. No wonder idiot liberal women wear pussy hats since they’re obsessed with their genitals.

  4. The only way these assholes in government will understand that all we want is to be left alone will come when we start shooting them upon the first sign of personal intrusion.

Until then, nothing will change for the better.

  5. How about if hussein obama’s academic history is tracked? Like when he was barry soetoro in Indonesia, or when he went to Occidental, or transferred to Columbia? I think that information would be very useful for tracking immigrant students.

  6. No need for a database. I can tell you right now… If you borrowed $100k to get a BA in some non-rigorous shitbag progtard major that ends in “studies”, then you better be hot and able to marry a doctor or some other rich spouse, because you’re completely fucked otherwise.

  7. I’ll go against the grain and say that it’s not a half bad idea. If Universities and Colleges knew that their graduates would be tracked to see how well they do with the degree their student took they may well be a little less squishy with the snowflakes and SJW’s and the BLM’s group and be a little more hard assed about getting good grades and a damn sight more careful about hiring teachers. If the databank put decent safeguards on names and reported groupings the parents may start getting a little hardnosed themselves with their little bundle(s) of joy about where they go to school and what degree they take. It would sure finally put pressure on both the schools and the students to educate and to be educated about the real world and not this safe spaces, trigger world fairy land the liberals have made up.

  8. I like the idea of gauging the worth of a particular university degree by the employment it generates for the student. However, provisions have to be taken for those who earn their degree then don’t pursue a career in their field or any other field.

The public would be well served to know if that $80,000 a year degree from an ivy-league school is better than a degree from the local community college in welding, motor repair or dental hygiene.

Oh, scr_north, you seem to think that what you do to be titled has anything to do with the title. Well, bless your heart.

  10. Oh that’s rich. The government setting ‘standards’ in K-12 and testing and tracking student regress (can’t use the term progress, since students goals have dumbed down education), has worked so well! Damn shame government was allowed to ‘help’.

  11. Universities do not give a crap about how students do after they leave. They are the reason baristas have $100000 debt and a $5 diploma; The reason for this database is to come up with a way to make the productive pay for the SJWs.
