Distracted Woman Falls Through Sidewalk Doors – Family Wants To Sue

A woman pulls out her “texting machine” and goes tea cart over tea kettle into a 6 foot opening.

The video is tough to watc— who am I kidding? It’s hilarious. I like how she teeters for a moment.

Hey, I had sympathy for her until the family pulled the “we’re suing” card. Now the video is funny.

Why are they suing?

The mom is “legally blind” and probably couldn’t distinguish between the sidewalk and the steel doors.

BUT SHE CAN SEE TEXT ON A TINY PHONE!

I can’t see the text on a phone, and I’m not legally blind. And if the woman is that sight impaired, GET A FRIGGIN CANE!!! There are potential hazards out there everywhere. What are you, a predatory suer?

I’m surprised they’re not suing the two teens for not yelling for her to watch out. Or for not grabbing her before she fell.

  1. I almost think she did it on purpose. After watching the video several times (not just for the entertainment value), I couldn’t help but notice she could EASILY stopped herself grom her slow motion oozing motion over the edge. 🤔🙄

  2. LOL! Watched this was on national news last week. Yeah, she’s a con artist. If it wasn’t falling into a basement, it would have been cooking oil in the aisle of her local grocery.

  3. I rewatched it. Yep. Definitely intentional. Tort reform would fix this. You lose and you pay all Court costs, attorney fees, etc.
suing for profit will quickly end.

Can’t pay? Go directly to jail. Do not collect $200.

  4. She’s going to win – big.
That worker should have put cones and other warning devices like 10 ft away from the open pit.
Maybe had fencing around the hole.
    SOP for most utility companies.

  5. There are doors like that in sidewalks all over every major city in the country. It’s not like she hasn’t come up to one before in her lifetime. If the guy didn’t break any rules or standards regarding leaving those doors open then it should be “tough shit” for her.

  6. I used to be the I.T. manager for a large independent supermarket. One day I was sitting in the office and happened to glance up at one of the security cameras as a woman with a long dress took a frozen turkey out of one of the freezers and put it up her dress, pinching the bird between her legs and waddling towards the front exit. But it was hot weather and her hot, sweaty thighs thawed the bird enough that it slipped out…..and bashed her foot, breaking it. Only then did she fall and start hollering she was going to sue us.

She actually got a lawyer too. But we invited him to review the security footage (complete with audio) and said if she went through with her suit we’d be filing charges against her and counter-suing as well. He told us he was going to drop his representation of her and advise her to drop the suit. Never heard a peep out of her after that.
