  1. This is why you need to ride with a dash cam. You could be doing exactly what you’re suppose to, but someone with fame (and ugly as shit) might step right into your path, lawyered up to the hilt. Dash cam would settle all of it.

  2. CORRECTED:

  3. I think Ms. Williams is lying her ass off. I think she wasnt’ paying attention, then decided to run the light and hit the old couple with a great degree of force. The only thing I have to say is that the lawyers for Mrs. Barton better get off their asses and see to the evidence before some goes missing from the Sheriffs office as the Williams are a very powerful family there.

  4. The car pictured is a cheap foreign car and it has front end damage. She was t-boned and I’d guess she was driving a luxury “tank”. Her speed really doesn’t matter. (Or that’s not the right picture)

  5. And the tennis world is concerned that this “situation” may have an impact on her performance at Wimbledon.

Cruel heartless world of the elite worried about a tennis match.

Her insurance will cover any costs, ask Bruce Jenner.

  6. The cheapo car in the picture must belong to the old couple, they hit Venus.

It’s so sad. But I don’t understand why the widow is filing her suit so soon. Doesn’t Venus have to answer to criminal charges?

    Is there video?

  7. Like cracker says, get a dash cam. I have one, don’t touch it but if something happens I just grab the memory card and plug into a computer.
I witnessed an accident about 10 years ago, woman I was driving behind suddenly turned left, crashing head-on into the guy coming the other direction. When I gave a deposition over the phone to the guy’s insurance company a month later, the person I spoke to said the police report correctly noted that she was at fault but that she insisted it was the other guy’s fault.
I was in a similar accident 4 years ago, going through a green light that had been green and was continuing to be green. Guy coming the other way (in an F-150!) wanted to turn left, didn’t see me and hit me right in the driver’s side B-pillar. Thank God and technology, airbags and a strong cage saved me from death. His comment on the police report was ‘he appeared out of nowhere.’

    Get a dashcam.

  8. @ eternal cracker p – Absolutely. I have one in every car… and they’re cheap, especially when you think about they grief they can save you. I will say this about cams… and it’s a good thing… it can make you a better driver when you are thinking about how you drive as a result of having a cam. Just remember that cam can be your best friend or your worst enemy depending on who’s at fault.

  9. Zonga, if there is video, as claimed, which would shed light on the accident, and the police are are withholding it because the fix is in, filing a civil suit now might be the best thing to do, especially if the plaintiff is old and injured. All the lawyers involved know the criminal case will be a mini O. J. show.

  10. All cars manufactured since 1974 have had 5 mph bumpers installed. That means it should be able to hit a solid object at 5 mph without damage. So the lie is obvious. However, one thing i learned watching insurance commercials on TV is that if Miss Williams hit a car driven by a white person, it is the white persons fault.

  11. I am so glad to see so many have dash cams.

It has saved me SO much trouble and money.

I got it because a cop got the stories all backwards back in 2013 and filled out the report all wrong.

So I get a dash cam and 4 months later a woman rear-ended me and started to lie like there was no tomorrow. Even denied she was still partially in my lane.

The whole she-said he-said completely came to a halt when they saw my recording.

She was shown to be the liar she is. Her insurance company was skeptical of my version until they saw the video. The next words I heard from them? “We are assuming full liability. Where would you like to get your truck fixed?”

Like LCD, I have witnessed accidents and gave my card to the victims and told them if they need video of the accident I have one.

And Rat Fink’s warning that it watches what you do, too, is right.

Get one and drive around for a day or two then watch the video. For me, it was” “STOP! Don’t roll the stop sign!” Yeah, I stopped being shocked and started coming to a full stop. Anything you do is on record. Mine has two lenses. 2x tele and wide angle. The wide angle is meant for cab watching, but I have it facing forward and it widens the view of the front. I have the camera for MY benefit.

  12. If you are at fault, your dash cam footage does NOT need to come into the case. Do not incriminate yourself. Many dash cams save a log file that includes speed, GPS location, G force, and more. Review all of it with a lawyer before handing to the authorities even if you think it helps your case. Always mute the audio.. One wrong word can have a serious impact against you.

  13. Those hyundai are built pretty damn tuff. That was at least
a 40mph combined crash. We see those all of the time out here
from dumphucks running red lights and getting t’boned.
