Slaves were owned the world over, even Africa. It was a different time in history.

The Democrats claim “America” is racist because of its shameful history of slave ownership, yet not a single Republican owned a slave at the onset of the Civil War. No one has been able to refute this claim. It is not the whole of America who is responsible for slavery. If that were true, then America would still be a slave country. Fact: Some Americans (Democrats) supported slavery and other Americans (Republicans) stopped it.
Some form of slavery has been a part of human existence in most parts of the world and is still practiced today, but it was the Democrats who came up with the idea that slavery was a “positive good”. Aristotle said that slavery was a necessary injustice; that there were jobs in a given society that required slaver labor, but it took the Democrats to turn it into something they deemed a common good for the master and the slave.
Following the Civil War and the end of slavery in America, continued persecution of blacks in America was perpetrated entirely by Democrats through their domestic terrorist arm of the party, the KKK. Additionally, Jim Crow laws were initiated by Democrat state legislatures, signed into law by Democrat governors, and enforced by Democrat officials.
D’Souza’s point is this: We cannot let the Democrats continue to the get away with painting America as a racist country when it was themselves — and they alone — who are responsible for it and for the continuing racism.
Democrats do not deny these facts, but neither do they admit them or apologize for them. Instead they insist that the whole of America is racist and bears the responsibility for slavery. The Big Lie.
Am I missing something, Grant and Franklin were never slave owners.
Neither My Great Grandfather, my Grandfather, my Dad or myself ever owned slaves, yet if you watch TV today you’d swear half yer neighbors are Gay, Lesbian, Trans-sexual, White Supremacist, KKK members in good standing! There might even be one under yer bed!!

I have no research to back it up, but I have no doubt at the dawn of time cave men captured and enslaved men and women from small tribes to do their work, hunting, gathering, breeding, if they didn’t kill them.
Slavery has evolved to where government is now the slave master, setting perimeters, rules, laws, what is acceptable, who is rewarded, who is penalized, who will be punished.
Government jobs, party affiliation, Money, or the lack of money, IRS tax code, required registration, licenses, permits, taxpayer paid benefits, programs, contracts and grants are the new whips and chains used by the slave master.
Slavery (forced servitude) existed in many forms in the past and in today’s society. It’s always been about power, control, submission and it always will be in this human experiment of life.

Years ago, 2 co-workers were talking about ‘In God We Trust’ on the dollar. One [who had a different problem or ’cause’ every week] said she’s atheist and doesn’t like it printed on currency. The other told her to ‘stop using them and said to use credit cards… ohh that’s right, they’re based on the dollar.’ Heh. It’s very hard to be sympathetic to a person’s problem when they have so many frivolous ones. lol
I’ll be happy to take any Krugerrands off the hands of those offended by them, as all left-thinking people should be. The obverse has the face of Paul Kruger, widely regarded as an “oppressor of black Africans”. I’ll pay $20 each in $5 Abe bills. I’ll even take pre-1991 coins made when South Africa still had apartheid laws, but I’ll only give you $5 for those nasty things.
