For a non-boxer McGregor did pretty well for the fight to last 10 rounds.
Apparently this was a much better match up than the original “wrestler versus boxer” contest.
Chuck Wepner was about 6 feet, 6 inches but it was still stupid to put him up against Andre the Giant.

Thinking about mixing disciplines, I remember Ali fighting a kick boxer. The kick boxer mostly kicked Ali’s legs hoping to break him down that way. I don’t remember who won, but it was a forgettable event.

I suspect that Mayweather could have taken McGregor out anytime after the fourth round. He elected to not to finish him until the tenth so as not to have the millions of viewers scream ripoff for his last fight. He’s getting 100 million guaranteed with his total take pssibly 200 to 300 million so holding back for 5 extra rounds is a small price to pay. This fight was never in doubt and the only thing historic about it was the money paid to the fighters.
Mayweather is a great fighter but it’s no surprise he lost to a better boxer.
So many were dissapointed by Pay Per View. I used Ignore For Free and am totally satisfied.
