They’re in so deep now they need their fans to lend them credibility to save themselves from this sh*t protest.

  1. @Plain Jane: “This is manipulation”

I agree. If they want to encourage ‘unity’ they would stand at attention, with cap/helmut or hand over their heart, as a sign of fidelity. To do anything otherwise is discouraging the rightful honor our flag has earned and deserves.
Satan lies and deceives, now it is moving into the nfl.

  2. Will some one please make a dimwitted sign that clearly lays out the protest and it’s general goal then pay some lefty a few dollars to hold it up on camera so simpletons like myself can understand the complexities of this newfangled tantrum the children are having?

  3. Not this Packer fan. No Thursday Packer/Bear game for me.

All of this drama started with Colin Kaepernick. I believe, but could be wrong, that his intention was to protest police brutality. Specifically, the motivation behind the BLM movement after the shooting in Ferguson, Missouri. The first incident of unintended consequences under this subject, is that the person who was shot and killed, actually did attack a police officer while sitting in his vehicle. That person did not raise his hands and surrender “don’t shoot” prior to getting killed. The action taken by the police officer was judged verifiable by the court of law. Here is where I would like to begin.

Mr. Kaepernic has his right to protest anything he wants, as we all do. To disagree with any protest does not imply support for racism or any other negative social connotation. Every story has two sides, in most cases though, not equally valid.

Our national anthem is very sacred to many Americans. Many lives have been lost or permanently damaged defending that vow of unity. I challenge everyone to take a drive over to the veteran’s hospital in King, Wisconsin. It will break your heart. If you don’t cry afterwards you have no heart. These heroes paid the price for love of country.

It is wrong to diminish the faith in the nation and use the anthem as a token symbol for political shaming. Every one of us Americans have equal rights granted under law. We all make choices in our individual lives and all of our choices come with unintended consequences. Right now professional athletes are feeling the unintended consequences of not thinking through on their actions to take a knee. Some want to smooth this over as an example of equality, unity and love for their fellow man. That is fine and good but not the true motivation behind the initial protest. This has become political. My argument is that expressing this subject in professional sports is the wrong venue. None of us tune into a sports event to watch politics unfold. That is what the ballot box is for.

Some have expressed disgust in our president for using his platform of authority to bring this subject up, but seriously how is that any different than a pro athlete using the football field as his platform? Keep in mind, President Trump did not start this fiasco, an NFL player did. We all expect a president to address any and all issues that divide us. We hope his reaction will be fair and balanced as well. We don’t look to athletes for that guidance nor should we expect it. Heck, even football is an example of inequality. There are more black players than white and all the owners are white. Certainly, not all teams are equal in talent. That’s a given.

That’s life in general. We all have talents, some more than others. Either we choose to build on those talents or we don’t. That’s how free will works.
Divisive politics has unfortunately become the norm in America over the last couple decades. Patriotism, has been under attack in this country for the past fifty years. Our last president turned divisive politics it into an art form. If you deny that reality then you have not been paying attention. Don’t buy into that game. Be better than that.

Here is my challenge to all who wish to take a knee. Put your money where your mouth is. Get out there and educate your chosen group that all choices have consequences. Stop looking to point the finger and blame someone else for bad choices made.
Pick your battles carefully because you will only have yourself to blame for the unintended consequences that follow.

  4. So… Are they imposing a mandatory show of unity on their fans here in order to support a protest of a mandatory show of unity by the players?… Well, isn’t that the typical double standard we’ve grown so accustomed to by now.

  5. This will go down as a text book example of “How to destroy your market”

These owners and coached are clueless. Anybody that’s ever been in the military, regardless of skin color, is pissed.

  6. All my life I’ve heard “Rule #1 in business is the customer is always right.”
We are (were) the NFL’s customers
The NFL players were blatantly saying we were wrong
    – Wrong to object to Kaepernak’s protests
    – Wrong to object to their mass protests
    – Even their Commissioner said we were wrong

    The NFL broke rule #1
    – And they need to suffer for that

  7. I’d heard the NFL was looking to hire crisis managers. Looks like they hired community organizers instead. You’d think that the fans who still show up would be allowed by the NFL to watch the game in peace. You’d be wrong. Next week, the fans will be handed stadium cards and assigned seats.

  8. They’ve voluntarily chosen to not honor the flag of the US, for reasons that aren’t clearly stated. Or at least I haven’t seen a distinct reason given thus far. There are all sorts of insinuations and implications provided by MSM and spokespersons, but no distinctions. Now they want to pressure people to deviate from the traditional observance of the playing of our national anthem, and conform to their new practice. I won’t be complying. They seek to compel people to join them, deviating from common and accepted practice, and then if someone chooses to not comply, they will be branded as a ‘racist.’ They want to control both sides of the narrative. I see the whole thing as being disrespectful of our flag and our nation, and for my part, racism has nothing to do with it. I won’t be told what to think, nor will I let another tell me, for my benefit, what I am thinking. And I will judge others by the company they keep.

  9. These egomaniacs think they’re a lot more important than they are. Your players not social justice warriors trying to change a as yet undefined problem. I will not join your their misguided protests and condemn them for being so easily lead into leftist proproganda machinations.
Do some research guys, find out that cop on black crime is the least problem that black men have. Black on black shootings tops the list at over 50 times the frequency of so called police shootings.
Mr. Goodall has allowed the clowns to run the circus. That is not leadership, it’s capitulation to political correctness which is always a recipe for disaster. As ye sow, so shall ye reap.

  10. Excuse me, but if I’m locking arms with the person next to me, I can’t put my right hand over my heart where it belongs.
This is a sign of unity, this is a form of mob restraint disguised as unity.
Your right hand is supposed to be free to put over your heart!
Anything less than that is still part of the protest!
They are trying to coerce you either way.

  11. Sorry, people there will be liberal fools, Antifa and BLM (some paid by Soros) locking arms at Packer games. Yes, NFL Football will continue to crash and burn with this self destruction, but don’t expect these leftist social engineering stunts to go away. The best thing that could happen is lots of empty seats in the stadium until the NFL is reformed.

  12. People with tickets should attend the game . Then after the National Anthem is played the crowd should walk out. People without tickets should call the advertisers and give them what’s for.

  13. Mickey Moussaoui said: “Pick your battles carefully because you will only have yourself to blame for the unintended consequences that follow.”

I heard a caller on Hannity say that he was a ticket sales person for one of the big NFL leagues. They’ve been getting thousands of phone calls of people complaining, people wanting their money back for tickets they bought. They were told not to say anything about the negative phone calls. He also said that they get paid a commission on the tickets they sold. He said not one ticket was sold, and all the sales people were shocked and went home empty handed. So, yes “unintended consequences that follow.” The players will still get paid but for how long? No fans, no revenue! Love it!

  14. I will watch, begrudgingly, because my daughter is visiting. I wish the fans in the stadium would stand, put their right hands over their hearts, then give the teams, NFL, the network and advertisers a unified showing of their backsides.

  15. Could the fans go into the concourse observe the anthem respectfully and afterwards return to their seats. I know there wouldn’t be enough room for all of them but tons of empty seats during the anthem could send a signal.

  16. The fans own the team. GB is a non-profit, publicly held, corporation with a limit on how many shares any one person can hold. Its the only team not owned by a person or private group. Its an interesting, to me anyway, side to the story of what will happen Thursday night at game time.

  17. The NFL is completely lost on what a FAN is: a fanatical supporter.
A fan CHOOSES to be a fan, he cannot be otherwise compelled to be that.

They gave good reason for fans to review that choice. In retrospect, that was a very bad thing.

  18. Whose stupid idea was this? Cmon out to lambeau sports fans, where we r going to treat u like sheep and have a group hug and support the players who spit on the flag. You thought u were going to a football game? Oh that is so yesteryear and bigoted, u racists. R they going to have everyone hold hands too? How friggin childish can u get

  19. I don’t understand. Linking arms while standing for the National Anthem is good. Linking arms while kneeling during the National Anthem is unpatriotic. Let’s play The Battle Hymn of the Republic instead of the National Anthem.

The Packers are owned by the people of the city of Green Bay. Didn’t Trump win Green Bay? This isn’t Madison; if a Packer kneels during the National Anthem, they’ll run him out of town on a rail.
