Plan to Split California into Three States – IOTW Report

Plan to Split California into Three States

… May be on Next Ballot

Legal Insurrection – My home state of California remains the entertainment capital of the nation!

It used to be our movie industry that captured the imagination of our fellow Americans. Now, our politics are what amazes.

This week, a plan to split California into three separate states is now making its way through the proposition process.

A plan to split California into three separate states may be on next year’s ballot.

Official paperwork was filed with the secretary of state’s office last week.

Tech billionaire Tim Draper, who came up with a six-state split in 2014, is behind the three-state plan: Northern California, Southern California” encompasses Fresno and most of Southern California.

The new California will be for part of L.A.county and most of the coastal areas.

Draper says the political and economic diversity of California is too difficult to govern.

I would argue that it is not too difficult to govern; rather, our state is being mismanaged by progressives more interested in engaging in politics at the national level and transforming Sacramento into the West Coast Washington, DC than in focusing on the less than glamorous items that make other states successful…like infrastructure, business development, and public health.

What would these states look like?

The proposed measure goes on to delineate three new states: “Northern California” (consisting essentially of the San Francisco Bay Area counties, those counties extending eastward of Bay Area, and everything north to the Oregon border); “California” (consisting of the coastal counties from Monterey to Los Angeles, inclusive); and “Southern California” (consisting of Orange and San Diego Counties, the Inland Empire, and vast majority of the Central Valley).

Each of these three new states would have more than 10 million people, making each of the three new states still among the ten biggest in the resulting nation of 52 states (a powerful reminder of Mr. Draper’s point about how large California has become.)

Too bad San Francisco is included in Northern California. Keep San Francisco with Los Angeles.

  1. would be good for Kali residents & the rest of the country
    … unfortunately …. won’t happen …. demonRats have a stranglehold on 54 Electoral College votes & 4.3 million illegal votes …. ain’t gonna give that up …EVER!

even though it’s a sharia no go

I got My goat f*ckers on

I guess I was never meant for lefty politico

commiefornia has worn Me quite thin

being white is apparently a sin

come Monday it’ll be all left

come Monday we’ll all be bereft

I’ve spent 4 angry days in this mostly brown L.A. Maze

and I just want to be back on Our side

  3. This is not a plan the DNC would support. “California” would still be heavily Democrat, but “Southern California” would likely be Republican and “Northern California” could go either way. If San Francisco was moved to “California,” 2/3 of the current state may go Republican. This is a lot of electoral votes for the Democrats to lose. If one looks at an electoral map, most of the state is actually red with the blue areas being largely confined to the cities.

The progressives I know will never support this plan for another reason: they like to control the lives of other people. I can see progressive policies, like unfettered immigration and job killing business regulations, turning “California” into a shithole, and a potential exodus of progressives to other areas they haven’t fucked up yet. Progressive policies fail faster in smaller areas, and progressives know it.

Progressives will likely be the most vocal opponents of such a plan. Immediately after the election, they agitated for splitting the state, and then backed off because too many non-progressives thought it was a good idea.

  4. Corral all the non-citizen invaders into one of these boxes and cede it to Meheeco along with a box of chocolates and a cheap bottle of wine. If they don’t all fit into one of these ‘estados’, give them two.

  5. The TRUE secession movement of Northern California included less southern counties. The Northern part would have been Conservative, away from San Francisco.

As it is right now, there would be 3 liberal states with 6 liberal Senators to D.C.

  6. “No, instead of 2 liberal senators like Boxer and Feinstein, we’ll have 6”

I think the guy that is behind this is a big Lib. Southern California has a good chance of going conservative. There’s no way Northern California can overcome the populations of San Fransisco, Marin, Salono, Santa Cruz, and Santa Clara counties. Militant Liberal Counties. And all freaken immigrants. We need a law that Gives Natives 2 votes to immigrants 1. And I’m not talking from another country.

  7. First, annex Baja. Most of it is owned by Americans anyway. Bam, Baja California. Next, split regular Cali at the bay. Bam, there’s Alta California. What’s left over is….I dunno’, Gay California.

    Vote Burr 2020.

  8. Interesting split up, and it mostly serves Liberals who want their own laws that suit their type of lifestyles. Bad Brad will be in Americas Richest State, and most Liberal State in the Nation at the same time.
It’s not too bad for Conservatives in San Diego as we Hate Los Angeles or AKA ” Hell A ” as we refer to it !!!

  9. Let’s gerrymander it according to Progressive concentration. One state will consist of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego and some of the smaller nearby hellholes like Berkeley and the rest of it is somewhat conservative and the other state. To not upset the apple cart each state gets one Senator (for two total).

All the idiot progressives can implement all their nonsense and stupidity and the rest of California can be free of them and their incompetence and tyranny.
