Update on the Kate Steinle murder trial

KFI: The prosecution in the Kate Steinle murder trial may be unable to use the testimony of one of their key witnesses.

John Evans, a former city police inspector, was questioned in court on Monday and testified about the mechanics of a ricocheting bullet.  He further explained that the only way Ms. Steinle could have been killed would have been intentionally:

“A human being held a firearm, pointed it in the direction of Ms. Steinle and pulled the trigger.  This is the only way this could have occurred that is reasonable.”

These statements were critical to the prosecution’s case, which argues that the victim couldn’t have been shot by a stray bullet.

However, a separate homicide case from 2007 was brought forward by the defense which included accusations that Evans had misrepresented gun evidence.  This ultimately led to an overturned conviction and acquittal.

To make matters worse, Evans was sued for providing false testimony in that murder case.  More

  1. The more I experience about the *actual* workings of the legal (NOTE: *not* “justice”) system in this country, the more drawn I am to the time-proven effectiveness of lynching.

  2. it’s not a mystery why our country is in the state it is when you take into account that most politicians are lawyers and most of our laws and courtroom injustice comes from them.

not even whale shit is lower than lawyers.

  3. how can his lawyer sleep at night defending this guy? I know there may be some that are innocent and deserve a GOOD lawyer but in this case- I dont need to hear or read to much to know he is guilty- Illegal for one- deported and came back a few times and lives in San Francisco which explains it all…. 🙁 God will have revenge on him- his lawyer and San Francisco…
