Vicious Winter Storm Brings Snow to Florida as It Winds Northward

Big Government: For the first time in 28 years, it is snowing in Florida — and the storm is far from over.

From Tallahassee, Florida, and north into Georgia and South Carolina, an icy blast of severe weather is taking the southeastern United States by storm. According to meteorologists, the surprisingly angry coastal squall may very well develop into a “bomb cyclone” on its way toward Maine, leaving a trail of frosty destruction in the wake of hurricane-force winds. The storm is also expected to bring coastal flooding and significant snowfall.

The first indicators of the storm’s severity came in the form of up to 24-foot waves clawing at the Florida coastline, following a storm warning that stretched from the Gulf Coast of Florida’s “Big Bend” to the Atlantic coast. Luckily, most of its fury will be spent off the coast before it is forecast to crash into Cape Cod, Maine, and then into Canada. read more

  1. I was taught in Grade 6 Geography class (back in 1964) that the weather/climate goes in approx. 30 year cycles of cold/hot/cold. In the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s it was extreme cold weather in winter, then in the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s it was warm (hence “global warming”). It is back into a cold cycle now – 28 years is fairly close to 30 years.

  2. See, Globaloney Warming causes it to freeze.
    That’s the paradox.
Actually, no matter what happens, it’s the fault of Anthropogenic Globaloney Warming or Something or The Other.

The only solution is to send money to Warren Buffet, Elon Musk, or Al Gore.
They can fix it – yeah – real soon now … just keep them checks coming …

  3. We got 6 inches yesterday, pump froze, thawed it, froze again last night, thawed the pump but lines are frozen someplace. Yes, we dripped the faucets, froze anyway. The problem is the switch freezes, when that happens you can drip the faucets all you want. Carrying water in to flush, at least we don’t have to melt the snow.
Have company so it’s more of a hassle than usual.
I have been threatening to install a heater on the pump but will need to run a new power line.
It’s like a leaky roof, can’t do it when the weather is bad and when it’s not, you don’t have to.
It snowed like this in 89, I remember because that’s when my father died, had to drive to the hospital in the snow.
People here absolutely, positively, cannot drive in snow.
Do we get a winter participation trophy this year?

  4. Reports are saying – It’s so cold the AGW / CC Deniers secretly wish it were true. Knowing it’s not true they’ve become depressed.
[ actually in winter i like below freezing temps. It’s no longer muddy ]

  5. “Paging Al Gore. There is a Christmas stocking full of coal waiting for you at the Service Desk.”

  6. It’s time to file lawsuits against the “AGW consensus scientists” for damaged crops, property, and loss of life. They have been campaigning for years that the world was warming and now many are woefully unprepared for the brutal cold. Where’s a good class action stooge when ya need one.

  7. I commented elsewhere about covering silcocks when it is cold as being a useless exercise. But apparently was corrected because down south plumbers do not use/install silcocks into heated/protected spaces of homes.

Why? An interior valved silcock has to cost about $5 more than an outside silcock. It probably costs a few thousand to plumb a house, why not invest the extra $10-$15?

  8. @Old Man Johnson – Al Gore and those paid off scientists and fake network new people who were pushing the lies need to be sued for fraud and made to return all their ill-gotten gains and sent to prison. This is much worse than Bernie Madoff.
