Bundle up, Buttercup; it’s Winter Storm Grayson

Patriot Retort: A massive storm is swirling along the Northeast Coast. And apparently it isn’t just bringing snow.

Forecasts call for brutal wind and plunging temperatures.

Terrific.

When did they start naming snowstorms anyway? And who picked “Grayson?”

Grayson sounds like the name you’d give some prep school kid from the Hamptons.

Governor Cuomo declared a state of emergency for downstate New York.

But here in Syracuse we’re just seeing the edges of this storm. But that doesn’t surprise me. Nobody named Grayson would willingly come to Syracuse.

Now, if they named this Winter Storm Somali Refugee, I’d be under six feet of snow right now.

But from what I can tell, we’re not expecting a whole lot of snow – just a whole lot of ass-clenching cold.

Add the high winds, and we’ll probably be looking at wind chills of twenty below zero tomorrow.

It’s times like this I wish I could teach my pitbull to use the toilet. But I can’t even to teach her to play fetch, so I doubt that’s in the cards. more here

  1. My niece recently moved from Idaho to central Virginia.
I’m trying to convince her that this is not normal and that it is not possible to bring the weather with her.

    This just sucks.

  2. Looking forward to 30 degrees on Sunday. The past 10 days have been single digits, or below zero double digits. I do nothing other than sit in front of a heater all day long.

  3. It’s winter. Just think how fun it is to guess how the left will rename the ‘climate crisis’. Mother Nature just won’t cooperate with the panic stirrers. DAMN facts, getting in the way.

  4. Ah, ah, ah, PHenry – don’t fib to the girl.
I live in what used to be part of your state till A.L. needed a couple of extra electoral votes for the coming midterm election and spun us off.

Worked with a guy here for 20 + years. He retired and moved to Raleigh, NC. First year there he got hit with the aftermath of some hurricane, had two trees blown down in his yard. No electric power for over a week. Over the next few winters he’d get hit with 14 inches of snow while I had maybe four inches of snow. I always told him, I can’t retire and move south, the weather there is to rough.

OK. true story, But just kidding.

  5. TWC did warn several years ago during Lord O’s reign that they would start overhyping the weather.

In the 70’s this sort of thing was normal. The little ice age. It even drove a mass exodus from the so called “rust belt” down to more temperate southern regions.

  6. Despite all that is wrong with California…

My son had to mow the lawn yesterday and then walked the dog to the park while riding his new hoverboard that he got for Christmas. My wife is up early to hike the trails with her buddies this morning, I’m enjoying a nice cup of coffee on the deck.
