October 2016: James Comey Friend Benjamin Wittes Discusses “The Insurance Policy” Against Trump

Conservative Treehouse: Researchers will share the value of pausing, going back, and looking upon previous information with new insight gained from current discoveries. In hindsight there are many contexts that shape a new understanding. Fired FBI Director James Comey ran a corrupt and heavily political organization. He himself helped to shape the politics of it.

On Comey’s watch he allowed the FBI to become a weaponized tool against political enemies. The upper-level officials within the FBI are now under scrutiny as their actions are increasingly transparent in their political motives. With James Comey sitting in the sunlight, I doubt there is a more apropos example for the value of hindsight-review than to visit the 2016 writing of Benjamin Wittes.

Conservative Treehouse

Mr. Wittes is a close personal friend of Mr. Comey, and was the go-between used by Director Comey to leak information to the media, and specifically to the New York Times.

Three days after the FBI secured the FISA “Title-1” surveillance authority over former Trump campaign official Carter Page (using the Clinton-Steele Dossier), Benjamin Wittes wrote a column in his blog titled: “What if Trump Wins” – “We need an insurance Policy“.  READ MORE HERE

  1. “Monitor the Justice Department and major regulatory enforcement bodies for signs of political corruption or misuse”

    Great idea, Benjamin!

It’s not all fun & games & tick tick tweets anymore, is it?

  2. This dip shit was participating in the corruption of the political process of the electorate choosing a president. Using the resources of the federal government in their unparalleled depth and reach to affect and contravene the will of the American people.

Seems almost like there should be a legal term for those actions.

  3. It reads like a liberal lawyer calling on other liberal lawyers to file every brief, appeal and lawsuit they can to stifle the normal functioning of the executive branch. It’s also off the charts arrogant. I would have enjoyed talking to this person the day after the election.

  4. You should do a quick scan of his article on if Hillary wins that is linked in the piece. I can’t decided if he’s being purposefully disingenuous about the anti-democratic behavior of the Obama administration or a simpleton on what he expected to be the sunny uplands of corruption free Hillary Clinton administration.

  5. I also suggest further examination of both the term “lawfare” and what the Lawfare blog says about itself.

It’s basically war using the court system of advanced western nations that trust such institutions. If Bill Ayers had studied law, this would be the place where he would post for all his fellow radicals to read his tripe.

  6. This guy Benjamin Wittes comes across like an intellectual dweeb. He’s a die-hard Comey friend and leaker. How come he’s not mentioned in the news. His “Lawfare” articles; A Coalition of All Democracies, Parts 1,11,& 111 written in October 2016 castigate Trump and promotes Clinton, saying she, Hillary,” is the only thing standing between America and a political apocalypse of sorts.” Freeze.
