Sorry Dems, California’s sanctuary policy is screwed

Patriot Retort: Do you remember back in 2010 when Arizona passed SB-1070?

Arizona had decided that since the Obama Administration refused to enforce immigration laws, they would do it for them.

Naturally, the Obama Justice Department sued the state of Arizona. And the case made it all the way to the Supreme Court.

The outcome was not good for Arizona.

SCOTUS ruled that when it comes to immigration laws, the Executive branch has plenary power and states have no business getting in the way.

Well, here we are in 2018 and the state of California has declared itself a Sanctuary State – effectively obstructing the Executive branch’s enforcement of immigration law.

Naturally, the Trump Justice Department is suing California over its sanctuary policy.

But thanks to Obama suing Arizona, we now know that the Executive branch has plenary power when it comes to the enforcement of immigration laws.

In other words, California is screwed.

Back in January of 2017, I pointed out that this SCOTUS ruling could come back to bite these Sanctuary-loving Democrats in the ass.

But Democrats never think these things through, do they?  MORE HERE

  1. If the court were to find California was within their rights to disregard federal law, it would be opening Pandora’s box and the states would then have a precedent to ignore federal statutes. Don’t see that happening.

  2. Geriatric Brown was just on PBS and he states that maybe 10 people applauded his speech at the end. Trying like hell to find video to prove him wrong. To my surprise (giggle) can’t seem to find a video of full speech.

  3. In case no one has noticed, we cannot count on the courts to uphold clearly written laws.

Be it striking down Obamacare or ending DACA that’s not even a fucking law. Like the judge said, oh yea, you have the power to end it but you can’t this way…the President needs to come up with a justification to do what he has the power to do that I agree with. Whatever that guessing game may be.
