  1. I’ve been seeing the portraits since some time now and keep telling myself to dig out my own pet pics, in particular of a rabbit I had as a kid.

    These are really great!

  2. As a two time client of the maestro, Bigissimo Furtastic Hatinsky, I urge everyone to have him build you a masterpiece and family heirloom.

    You won’t be disappointed.

  3. Damn. I wish I had that talent. I’ll turn fifty this July and I still don’t know what, if any talent I have.
A guy I served in the sand box with had to put his shepherd down. He’s broken. I don’t know if a portrait of his pup would be a good thing right now.

  4. @Rick. I’ll contrib to the proposition.
    Pretty sure it will help.

I’m going to speak out of school now.

I have a friend who isn’t a IOTW gal, necessarily, but whose dog recently died. I shot a pic to Fur and he painted a beautiful picture. When we presented her with the painting yesterday she was overwhelmed and totally loves it.

There will be no more moving memorialization of your friend’s dog than a BFH portrait. Like I said, I’ll help with the $.

  5. One more thing Rick, even if you sent BFH a picture today it would be a week or so before you get a painting back. Your buddy might be pretty receptive to it by then.

  6. @Rick – My Sophie (my avatar) was my constant companion for 10 years and having to put her down was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through.

Many here will remember my heartache.

My brother is also an artist and he showed up at my house about two weeks after her death with a painting.

To this day, her framed portrait is hanging in a place of honor and every time I look at it, a smile comes over my face.

    Now is the time.

  7. Charlie, I have been told by many, is the nicest dog they have ever met. Lexi, she is I little psychotic. But she is all talk. Now that I’m a stay at home dad/mom she is my shadow. Sits where I sit, sleeps where I sleep, walks where I walk.
Charlie is a very good dog. If you come over, he will find a stick for you to play with. The problem is, that stick might be 12 feet long. It is what ever he finds first. Would not hurt a soul, unless you hurt me. He might ruin your day. Good dogs, and only sprayed by a skunk once in their lives!

Fur did a fantastic job on the painting, and I’m greatfull he took the time to do it.
