DC: Ralph Peters abruptly quit his job as a Fox News strategic analyst on Tuesday. Instead of leaving quietly, the retired Army lieutenant colonel wrote a scathing letter blasting the Trump administration and his former employer for “assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers.”
“Fox has degenerated from providing a legitimate and much-needed outlet for conservative voices to a mere propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration,” wrote Peters in a letter to his former colleagues at the network, obtained and published by BuzzFeed.
“Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association. Now I am ashamed,” Peters wrote before launching into an attack on the network’s prime-time hosts.
“When prime-time hosts–who have never served our country in any capacity–dismiss facts and empirical reality to launch profoundly dishonest assaults on the FBI, the Justice Department, the courts, the intelligence community (in which I served) and, not least, a model public servant and genuine war hero such as Robert Mueller–all the while scaremongering with lurid warnings of ‘deep-state’ machinations– I cannot be part of the same organization, even at a remove. To me, Fox News is now wittingly harming our system of government for profit,” wrote the former Fox News contributor. more here

First off, i never served in the military; never drafted, never enlisted, although I have adult children who are active military. I have great respect for those who volunteered their service. Having said that, Ralph Peters, like a lot of former military has a blind spot for those who served; they are reluctant to criticize them, and have little respect for the opinions of those who didn’t serve.

Dadof4–thank you but it was what I always wanted and I found it to be a true blessing for me. I am NOT a fan of Ralph Peters or the things he said but to make assumptions about his service is strange. My first 4 years in the Army were spent in college because that is how my scholarship was, I was an E-3 but a college student. I graduated with 4 years of service and as a 1LT. Mine was an extremely unusual but it was called the WRAIN program (Walter Reed Army Institute of Nursing). Anyway, my point are blanket assumptions are always fallible. I also, as a loser, managed to get a Masters and become a nurse practitioner! My feelings are just fine and I appreciate your kind words and Aunt Liz’s too.
