Finland’s experiment, providing a basic income to people for doing nothing and giving nothing in return, has ended… quietly.
2000 people were handed tax payer’s money to fart around as they wished, the hope being they would get a job (and keep the monthly stipend, as well.)
My guess is that nearly 100% of the people didn’t seek employment.
The experiment is Finnished.

The Grammar Nazi in me must tell you that “Parasite’s” ==> “Parasites” (no apostrophe).

Has there been a leftist social experiment that has ever worked efficiently?

The older I get the firmer my belief that only advanced thinkers – not always defined as some may believe – can successfully integrate into a free society. They could be intellectually gifted or lower reading level people with a knack for building. There are a lot of ways to be intelligent, and all of them have one thing in common: working for something and depending on others as little as possible is true freedom.
Immaturity and willful ignorance breeds parasites.
Oh yes, and if memory serves, this is also the dumbass country that declared high-speed internet is a basic human right. I wonder if that quietly backed out as well?

Years ago I used the read the blog post by a guy, Timko I think was his name. Called himself the Kayaking Hobo. He was college educated, bright, innovative, clever inventor of gadgets, and did these wonderful solo kayaking adventures round Europe, and South America in his folding kayaks. He had zero tact and quickly PO’d people and was quickly banned from various kayaking forums I saw him joint, but he was a skillful writer.
His bragging about how he was from Finland and hadn’t had a job for 8 or ten years rubbed me the wrong way. But I decided, hey he wasn’t living off my money, if someone in his own country he wasn’t going stop him living off them, I’d just suppress my opinion of him and keep reading of his adventures and clever inventions he built to make them more interesting. If he didn’t burn out his wanderlust several years ago, and go back to work, I think his free ride is over.
The parasite board needs a few senators and congressmen added to it. To round it out and stuff.

@Deplorable B Woodman, are you still using IE for a browser or something? There’s Fur’s email address listed, left sidebar about a third of the way down the page. Using it could help better, since none of us readers can. Including browser, OS & add-ons are a must.

Maybe a little off topic but check out “immigration, world poverty and gumballs” by numbers USA. Roy Beck does a good job of explaining the futility of the immigration lunacy. It’s enlightening with the visual assist.
