Democrats In Congress Find Religion After Chaplain Firing

Patrick J. Conroy has served as the House Chaplain since assuming the post in 2011. The April 15th resignation of the Jesuit priest was met with  outrage from democratic members with an attempted lead by House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) to create a committee to investigate Conroy’s removal by Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI).

Many believe Conroy had become too political, especially after his opening prayer addressing members on tax policy back in November. Here

Speaker Ryan has stated that Conroy had been asked to resign based on the stated desire by a number of members who say that pastoral needs weren’t being met.” More

  2. No one wants to go to church and be prisoner to some priest going on and on about ‘social justice’ and ‘gimme money for social justice’.
    They’re holding The Bible yet they are not talking about it.
