The FBI’s “Sensitive Matters Team” – IOTW Report

The FBI’s “Sensitive Matters Team”

Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-WI) sent a letter yesterday to Christopher Wray, head of the FBI, seeking clarification on what had been going on with the agency’s “sensitive matters team.” The letter indicates that the team had been engaged with leaking the Steele dossier to CNN. They also appear to have discussed providing the cable news channel the pretext for publicly disclosing the existence of the dossier (that being former director Comey’s briefing then president-elect on the now discredited file).

The letter was generated after a number of e-mails were sent to the senate by the Justice Department Office of Inspector General, Michael Horowitz. Within those e-mails, members “team” discuss Comey, the dossier and their expectation that CNN will report on the dossier. Here and Here

  1. Treason is sensitive business at the DOJ and FBI.
They’ve made it a political science.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.”

  2. I’d love to turn on the TV one day and see SEAL Team Six storming the FBI headquarters and the DOJ and double tapping every traitor in those places under direct orders from the Commander-in-Chief. There probably wouldn’t be anybody left.
