DNC uses Khizr Khan and Deceased Son In Fundraiser

DC: Democratic National Committee chair Tom Perez acknowledged that Americans are “forever indebted” to “the many brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice defending the ideals we all share” on Memorial Day.

Two days later, Perez’s debt-stricken organization used the death of an Army captain to ask for campaign contributions.

The DNC on Wednesday blasted out a fundraising email signed by Khizr Khan, the father of deceased Capt. Humayun Khan, who died in Iraq in 2004. The elder Khan shot to fame after citing his son’s military service in a speech attacking then-Republican nominee Donald Trump at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

“If my son, U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, was still here today, he would be appalled by Donald Trump and his hateful agenda. Trump has done nothing but smear the character of Muslims, try to build walls to divide us, and threaten the democratic values my son and many other immigrants died protecting,” the fundraising email said.  more here

  1. “If my son, U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, was still here today, he would be appalled by Donald Trump and his hateful agenda”.
I would hope he’d be appalled you’re using him like a political speed bump, running over and backing up over his dead body repeatedly.

Btw, wasn’t he running for a political seat in VA? That fizzled out as soon as they reached the Go Fund Me goal.

  2. My son was a proud member of the US military and served to protect the ideals we all share. Tragically his military career was cut short when his suicide vest accidentally exploded. Allahu Akbar!!

  3. I thought ol’ Kinky Licks Khan was running for office himself. No? What happened? He was a sure thing, right? Guess not. But I am enjoying this replay of 2016 with extra scandal added. Can we get a cameo by Seddique Mateen?

  4. I hope they include that Kahn makes a living selling citizenship to non-qualified muslims and that he’s connected to the same firm that does the Clinton’s taxes.

  5. Truth hurts, anonymous. Blunt truth hurts even more. That is why he said it. You can’t handle the truth. Here’s some more blunt truth: For every Khizr Khan, there are ten Seddique Mateens.

  6. I’m trying to say that “Five Deferment Trump” should have ignored the parents. They’re a gold star family.

Trump got five deferments, 4 while in college, then one for heel spurs after he graduated. Was that realistic for a young man who played all kinds of sports. I don’t know.

  7. Ben? Jeb? Kristol? Flake?
Slow news day? Too many Trump accomplishments to overcome?
Shouldn’t you get back to work putting the finishing touches on McCain’s Bon Voyage party?

  8. Darn it. Did it again. Anonymous directly above is me and was inadvertently omitted when I forgot to enter in the name field….. not out of cowardice.

  9. I’m disappointed in you people.

The father is a Demonrat, the mother lost her son in combat, yet you have no compassion. Are you all OK with President, or candidate, playing tit-for-tat with gold star parents?

It seems like Trump can do no wrong with you people.

Ds are using an insult from a gold star family, the father making a point their decorated, killed in combat, son wouldn’t like Trump. So what?

why condemn the father for using his son for political reasons, Trump used their son for political reasons. He also disrespected the mother.

  10. Respectfully Zonga, this is a tactic I would expect from the left.

I don’t believe anyone here would disrespect a fallen soldier nor a Goldstar family. And I don’t think any president in modern times has more love for the military and their families than Trump.

Khan chose the spotlight (or was naively used by the DNC, who couldn’t even bother to display the flag his son died to protect, at their convention), whereby he whipped out his pocket Constitution, vowing to fight Trump’s “Muslim ban”.

Not sure what you mean by Trump using his (Trump) son for political purposes, unless there’s a FEC law against family members support I don’t know about.

I think it’s disingenous to conflate the two.

I didn’t mean Trump’s son, I was referring to the decorated Army Captain who died in combat.

    English and math are hard.
