Keith Ellison mocks work requirement rule for food stamps

DC: Deputy Chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Keith Ellison mocked the idea of requiring proof of work status for food stamp eligibility.

“Our success will turn on whether somebody gets to develop their mind and seek higher education, get a retirement benefit, survive, eat — all these things,” Ellison said.

Ellison addressed a Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) convention, which lasted from June 1st — 3rd, during which he stated, “You know they want to make you have to have a work requirement just to be able to get food stamps nowadays.”

He elaborated, “This is the mentality of the people we’re talking about.”

The deputy DNC chair has recently elaborated on other topics, such as claiming women are “dying” because Democrats are losing elections and that Republicans fostering Bible studies in jails are costing Democrats votes in Minnesota.

  1. How can you expect food stamp recipients to stay on the Plantation if you require them to work?

MORE free stuff for the users, abusers, losers and illegal leeches!

  2. I have a friend who is a religious refugee from Iran. She has an 11 year-old daughter who is multilingual – several languages. She estimates that her work and studies take up about 75 hours per week. She is struggling financially and currently dependent on assistance, but I know that in a couple of years she will be doing well.
The Left doesn’t like people like this, they want to keep them dependent, to keep their incomes low so they will stay on assistance. And to do that they mock the idea of people actually making something of themselves. It’s pitiful.

  3. Keith, (like all liberals), doesn’t mind giving away other people’s money but you can be sure if it came out of his pocket, there would be a lot of hoops to jump through.

  4. I remember, back in ’94, while working as a bellhop at the Bloomington Airport Marriott a fellow worker telling me “I was born a DFL’er and I will die a DFL’er”.

It’s not just stupid, it’s a genetic type of inbreeding stupid that logic and rational thinking can’t effect. It’s the kind of inbreeding stupid that has them apologizing to the imported savages who act like savages because the locals bend over backwards to expose their throats to the knife of multicultural open mindedness. But I digress.

  5. He has to attack it. A core constituency is in peril. When someone works it restores their dignity and lessens their dependence on the teat of the government. This is how Democrats open their eyes.
