Navy Lifts Ban on Dreadlocks and Ponytails For Women

The Hill-

The U.S. Navy announced new hair rules for female sailors his week, saying they can now wear dreadlocks, ponytails and styled buns while in uniform.

The Navy’s announcement came in a live broadcast on its Facebook page on Tuesday with Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson and Chief of Naval Personnel Adm. Robert Burke, The Huffington Post reported.

Richardson said the naval branch enlisted a team of six female sailors to help devise the new grooming standards, which he noted were also based on feedback from the sailors’ peers.

  1. “And this makes the Navy a much more lethal and effective fighting force, how?”

I suppose the same way dressing sailors on ships in camo uniforms does.

  2. More of lowering standards to keep the ranks filled. No wonder the ships are slamming into each other on the high seas.
The more they allow individuality the more the discipline breaks down.
The military has turned into another jobs program.

  3. That stops appropriation of white people hair, cuts down on dangerous flammable chemicals on board, and they can wear their hats perched way up on top of their hair looking all Buckwheaty during inspections

  4. No one in the Navy can keep their ship from crashing into other ships, but at least we’re finally focusing on the important things .. Rastafarian hair styles. Because nothing suggests order and discipline like references to Jamaica

I thought this hippie shit was supposed to stop when we elected Trump

  5. In 1973, it was common for black USAF airmen to wear large spiked combs called rakes in their afro hairdos. It was against regulations to do so while in uniform, but many of the more radical blacks tried to get away with it. I witnessed an Air Force tech sergeant walk up behind one of the uniformed offenders and literally rip the rake from the guys afro along with a good amount of the offenders nappy, greasy hair. I didn’t think I’d ever stop smiling.

But not for men (or “transgenders”)?
    Ain’t that ray-cyct or something?

Clearly discrimination. If it has no bearing on the performance of women in uniform, it can have no bearing on that of men – seeing as there’s no difference, and all.

    izlamo delenda est …
