No, that wasn’t a typo. That’s exactly what I said.
In Venezuela, a can of tuna is worth 1.000.000 liters of gasoline.
1 tuna can = 6.400.000 bolivares = 1,87 USD = 1.066.667 liters of 95 octane gas.
Yet the minimum monthly wage is 5.196.000 bolivares, … not enough for a can of tuna. MORE
If I felt safe flying to Venezuela with a pallet of tuna fish I would, I think I’ll stay here in Chicago instead.
I got tuna at Safeway for 45¢ per can. I’ll send them 10 cans and I’ll settle for 2 barrels if it’s 85 octane Regular
When Elon Musk read this he created The Tesla Remunerator for the betterment of all mankind. Than someone pointed out to him those are decimals, not commas. Genius he is,,,
In Venezuela every comma in yer bank account adds a millimeter to yer dick…
Now that’s a trade deal we should make!
Wasn’t it in Germany after WWI when they had hyperinflation and people were carting around wheelbarrows full of DM to pay for basic food items? If they needed a loaf of bread they purchased it as soon as the store opened in the morning, Because if they waited to purchase the same loaf of bread in late afternoon it cost twice as much. It’s easy to see when that sort of thing happens a can of tuna could be worth a lot of gas.
I knowihe last time I infered that someone needs to step in to feed these Civilized People, there wasn’t much support for helping. But when do we realize People’s Children are Dying because of F’d up Polotics, do we wait ’till Madura out does Adolph ?
*Eating a can of tuna while reading this*
Huh…..
Plantsman…. noble sentiment my friend but the USA is not the fuggin’ Justice League.
Everybody else, we stick to plan of slant drilling all of Venezuela’s oil out from under them via Trinidad and Tobago.
Yeah, I know I’ve given them a lot of grief in the past but they’re solid people.
I can’t tell if you are meaning to use a , or a .
Is the Tuna worth 250.000 gallons of gas or 250,000 gallons of gas?
Undoubtedly, the original author (Mr. Aguirre) uses decimal points and commas opposite of the U.S. norm….

They can get 95 octane gas?
Damn. I can only get 94.
Lucky. 😀
I get gas from eating tuna. Does that count?
Damn! If that’s the worth of tuna, think what you could get for a pound of breaded Whiting Fish Sticks!
Or Spam!
I’m getting dizzy with “get-rich-quick” ideas …
A sobering thought: Tons of dope are easily smuggled, but no tuna?

It always comes back to Tuna. . . and Toast
It always confuses me when furriners reverse commas and decimal points when representing money amounts. That’s why I got rid of my German Monopoly game. Well… that and the fact that I kept landing on “Go to Russian Front” (Gehe nach Ostfront).
🙂
‘.’ = decimal point in america
‘,’ = units of 1000 in america
most everywhere else, it’s the opposite. so,
250.000 = 250,000 american
i could greatly increase my carbon footprint with that!
