  5. How do people figure the idea of Universal Income works? That means half the people don’t have to do much and they will get money while the other half works their tails off so the first half can get their Universal Income. Then what is the incentive for the second half to work their tails off just just to see the fruits of their labor taken to give to the first half. Then everybody will want their guaranteed income but there will be nobody working to provide it.

    It does not make sense. I know: liberalism does not make sense.

    Peter is a butler for an English Lord and an avid Crossword puzzle doer.

  14. It seems to me that if there is to be universal income then everyone — regardless of whether you work or not — gets the kitty. Those who work, get more.

    My guess is that inflation will eat up the universal income which will, in almost no time, become essentially worthless, enough to buy you a candy bar and a milkshake, but not enough to rent a room for two nights.
