In the Postmodern ideology of the Left, Cuomo’s comment heard ’round the world can be explained with amazing ease: Postmodern anarchists cannot imagine a hierarchy established to preserve anything other than power or, as Jordan Peterson explains, tyranny. But if you know Peterson’s arguments about hierarchy, you know: #1 — hierarchies are far older than humanity; older than trees, and #2: the Postmodernists deny the existence of competence as the actual reason for hierarchies. Every order of life, from single cell bacteria to even the disordered order of Maxine Waters relies on the self-organizing phenomenon of a hierarchy. As Peterson puts it, it’s what every member within it counts on for its own survival; so that a society doesn’t devolve into unspeakable chaos, violence and destruction.
What Cuomo is espousing — even in his inarticulate way — is the Postmodern worldview that hierarchies are just patriarchal hierarchies. And, true to form, he ignores any other kind of hierarchy based on anything but that, including that thing so much on display right now by our President Trump and his administration: competence.
In a nutshell (because that’s what Cuomo is): He cannot, dare not!, admit the competence of the man behind “MAGA”. It’s either not in his thought process at all or he is too ignorant to understand it.

Yep. In 242 years, the country that every refugee in the world would sell their mother’s eternal soul for a chance to get to was never great. Why do we allow any to come here at all? It sounds horrible.
The Left has taken over football so it’s only a matter of time before they start moving the literal goalposts on the field since they’ve moved the ones dis-establishing our historical greatness to some nebulous, future greatness upon adoption of Cuomo’s current, narrow views.

Cuomo has just given the Republican party its best campaign material. “Democrats: America Was Never Great.” I would tar every Democrat with this statement because many of them believe it, but unlike Cuomo aren’t stupid enough to actually articulate it.
