The rest of the story:
The Truth about “War Hero” John McCain

I hate to see anyone succumb to damnable cancer, but while I may mourn for his family I will not mourn for John McCain.
Let’s take a look at the “war hero’s” illustrious military career shall we?
His record as a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy was dismal. He piled up demerits left and right for breaking the rules, and barely passed his schoolwork, graduating 894th in a class of 899.
He barely passed flight school. And then he crashed two airplanes and damaged a third.
The first crash took place during advanced flight training at Corpus Christi, Texas. According to McCain, the engine stalled while he was practicing landings. The plane fell into the water of the bay just off the airfield and knocked him unconscious. McCain woke up and somehow managed to get out of the cockpit and escaped serious injury. Investigators reported that they started the recovered engine without any problem, and their report left open the possibility of pilot error.
The next accident took place in Spain while McCain was assigned to an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean Sea. He tried to fly his propeller-driven A-1 fighter-bomber under a row of pylon-supported electric power lines. This was a hotdogging stunt by U.S. pilots in Europe that had caused outrage. McCain’s plane hit and damaged the lines so badly that thousands of people lost power. My daredevil clowning had cut off electricity to a great many Spanish homes, McCain wrote later, and created a small international incident.
In 1965, McCain flew a navy airplane to Philadelphia to attend the Army-Navy football game. On the way back to his base in Norfolk, Virginia, the plane’s engine quit, he said, so he bailed out. The plane crashed and was destroyed.
On the morning of July 29, 1967, McCain was sitting in the cockpit of his Skyhawk waiting to be launched by the ship’s catapult. Another plane accidentally set off a Zuni missile that hit the fuel tank of McCain’s A-4, touching off a fire that spread rapidly across the ship. McCain managed to escape injury, but 134 sailors died and many others were badly burned.
It was the worst U.S. Navy accident since World War Two and the fourth serious accident McCain had been involved in since becoming a pilot. His reputation for being a hotdog, a show-off pilot who broke the rules led to rumors that McCain had caused the fire by trying to scare the pilot behind him by suddenly shooting flames out of his tail exhaust. There was no evidence McCain was at fault and the fire was ruled accidental. But the rumors persisted.
And the strike that got McCain captured by the enemy.
By his own admission, then, McCain failed to follow instructions in combat. He did not try to evade the missile. Moreover, the pilots who were flying near him, one of them with a handheld camera, said he was not hit by a SAM. He had flown too low and was brought down by a barrage of antiaircraft fire. Since a SAM exploded in a bright orange fireball visible for miles around, it was unlikely that they had called it wrong. And since official navy records listed John McCain as downed by AAA fire, they were puzzled by why he later insisted in his political campaigns that it was a SAM.
As other pilots saw it, John McCain, quite simply, had got himself shot down.
But McCain also made another error in the next four to six seconds after he was hit. He failed to use the proper procedure he had been taught for ejecting. As a result, he injured himself critically, breaking both arms and his right leg.
The real John McCain. From a US Navy Aviator who served with McCain: TRUE!! AND… he LIED about it!! RESPECTFULLY, you NEED to have this conversation with some Naval Aviators and officers of that era!!! I am ONE of those and KNOW the “true story” of Admiral McCain’s little thug son, John!
McCain was a traitor and collaborator, while being held captive. He was given preferential treatment, due to the fact that his captors felt he was ‘royalty’, due to his family ‘connections’. They didn’t understand why someone SO ‘connected’ was putting himself in ‘harm’s way’. Different culture than ours.
His “shoot down” was self-induced, as he DISOBEYED ORDERS and flew well below the ‘floor’, getting himself shot down. There were several other jets on that particular mission and HE was the only one shot down, because the others obeyed their orders!
His ENTIRE life has been one of disrespect of orders and authority, believing himself bullet-proof, due to his ‘family name’ and his dad and grand dad being HIGH ranking Navy Admirals!
His ‘nickname’ in his HS yearbook was “Punk” and he displayed that behavior as he went on to the USNA, where he robbed someone, more deserving, of a slot in his class, due to the ‘influence’ of his father.
He SHOULD have been expelled, several times, but the folks at USNA did not want to go up against dad. He graduated FIFTH FROM THE BOTTOM in his class . . but STILL ended up going to Pensacola for flight training! His classmates who actually ‘made the grade’ were aghast when he showed up down there.
His flight grades were well below acceptable and he should have been run out of there too he was an ABYSMAL aviator crashing on base leg at Corpus for carrier qualification training he had been out drinking the night before and FELL ASLEEP after turning base leg and ‘configuring’ for landing he crashed ‘wings level’ and straight ahead into Corpus Bay… too bad for us he wasn’t over land . . . story would have ended there.
He destroyed two other A/C after arriving in the Fleet . . before being shot down.
His nickname in Hanoi was “Songbird”. . due to the information he willingly gave his captors. . tactical stuff. .like ‘routes, altitudes’, etc., that our guys used to fly from the boat to their targets and he got several of my fellow aviators shot down and killed. He recorded 32+ propaganda bits (a la Tokyo Rose) to be played for our enlisted troops . . to undermine their moral.
The bogus ‘story’ about not coming home early, when he could have, is just common sense. He KNEW he would have been ‘court martialed’ IF he had accepted any kind of early release, based upon his ‘family connections’.
After his release, his Navy ‘flying career’ SHOULD have been over, based upon his permanent injuries, but, his dad intimidated a flight surgeon and he wrongly got back his flight medical status, when ANYONE else would NOT have ‘passed’ with his ‘condition’. He was ‘awarded’ the position of XO at the Navy’s largest training squadron, VA-174 at NAS Cecil and when the CO moved on, he was ‘selected’, over MANY more qualified officers, to become CO… he used his position as XO and CO to take young (junior) female pilots on X-Country flights and screwed their brains out.
I was in the Reserves, flying around the country at that time and it WAS the talk of the flight line !! EVERYONE knew what he was doing . . THAT is ILLEGAL in the military and he SHOULD have been convicted at Court Martial for ‘fraternization’ . INSTEAD . .daddy got him moved out of the squadron and put in charge of the Navy’s “Liaison” in DC . . along with a VERY early promotion to Captain . . the rest, as they say, is history.
John McCain IS a scum bag . . a DISGRACE to the uniform we wore and his spots did not change when he became a politician!
Do a GOOGLE . . there is a LOT more stuff out there. .BUT, this snippet, below, is REALLY DAMNING . . there are some ‘heavy hitter’, respected politicians and leaders on there, calling McCain the treasonous SCUM he IS!!
From a post by Jeffrey Swede
I will add that when McCain returned to the United States he dumped his partially disabled wife (from an auto accident) and married a trophy bride.
He went on to become the most despised member of Congress. So disliked was he that when he ran against Dubya Busu, hardly a shining star, he only received the support of two other members of congress.
He was caught on video berating the family of a POW/MIA and had numerous complaints about his callous and rude treatment of the families.
And there is much, much more . . .
No, I will not mourn the passing of this man.

  1. I hope more keeps coming out, although it will never be in the MSM. This guy was a traitorous POS that will hopefully rot in hell. And when all the dems and RINOs that love him so much pass on, hopefully they join him in the bowels of hell.

God finally did what the people of Arizona were to stupid to do. Put him in his place.

  2. Then-candidate Donald Trump knew all of this, and much more when, in his clumsy way, he said he did not consider McStain a hero. Again, he was right.

In the above narrative of Song Bird’s military career, there is much dispute among Navy guys “in-the-know” about his role in the Forrestal fire. The Navy even produced a white-wash film that tried to exonerate “Wet Start” and dispell the “rumors” .

  3. I had always doubted his patriotism, character, honesty &c during his Senate tenure, but that was based on personal observation.

I gave little or no thought or consideration to his “war hero” status until after having that narative rammed home by the propaganda wing of the Democrats and establishment Republicans.

They motivated me to do a bit of research to see if there was any indication that he had the same issues prior to his Senate years.

At this juncture, and for the last decade, I believe it is far more likely than not that his “official” service record is a fabrication, concocteded by his family in order to advance his post service political aspirations.

  4. This part bothered me a lot, because it diverges from the story of how he was shot down (I’ve heard elsewhere that the Viet Cong patched him up, whereas I’d previously heard that his injuries were from his captivity, where he stayed to avoid being court martialled):

“And the strike that got McCain captured by the enemy.

“By his own admission… McCain failed to follow instructions in combat. He did not try to evade the missile. “The real John McCain.”

  5. I find this believable because it a compilation of a whole slew of little corruptions that John could get away with because his daddy and grandad were big time brass. This family hertage is also the very sort of thing that could have molded McCain’s mind to be a lifelong entitled punk

Moreover, it steers clear of the claim that McCain’s hot-dogging initiated the events that led to the Forrestal fire. That is simply not believable. First off, the Forrestal was obliged to take on some very dangerous and unstable aerial bombs the day before. These bombs would proceed to explode in the Forrestal fire and greatly increase the amount of damage. If McCain had hot dog tendencies, this is the last day he would have succumbed to them. Everyone knew that a very dangerous situation existed on the carrier that day

Secondly, this disaster took the lives of 136 sailors. There is only one one-day incident in the entire Vietnam war that was deadlier — the ambush at LZ Albany at the Battle of Ia Drang which took the lives of 155 Marines in November of 1965. Moreover, this incident almost destroyed an aircraft carrier and put a huge crimp in the bombing campaign of the North

In other words, there is no way in the world McCain would have avoided serious consequences for this, at the VERY LEAST losing his flight status. Doesn’t matter who his daddy was. How is the elder McCain going to convince LBJ to let his punk son stay on flight status after little Johnny has thrown a monkey wrench into the entire war strategy

In the aftermath of the LZ Albany ambush, the US marshalled every plane in Vietnam to hunt down that NVA regiment and snake and nape them to the tune of 500 KIA. But John McCain doesn’t even get a slap on the wrist for doing something just as bad?

    Think about it

  6. @Callmelennie: After the shenanigans we’re witnessing with Trump’s enemies in the Swamp, I can believe that the CYA attitude in the Pentagon surrounding McShitstain’s antics and daddy’s desire to protect his little fart blossom is equally plausible.
Remember, the Pentagon back then was suffering from a huge credibility gap, and to pin something as tragic as the Forrestal on something other than an “accident”, considering the souring mood in the US about ‘Nam, would not have made sense for the Pentagon or LBJ–in ’67 he still had hopes of being reelected.

    7
  7. Callmelennie: Oh I have thought about it. Can you imagine LBJ, trying to keep the public supporting an (increasingly unpopular) war, allowing a story to become public about how a hot-shot son of a 3-star Admiral was screwing around and caused the death of 136 sailors and the near-loss of a carrier? I don’t know what the truth is, because I wasn’t there, but it is not outside plausibility that the wet-start story is accurate.

Edit: Anonymous: You said it better.

  8. Someonerecently posted a link to McCain’s service record, and in it was the part McCain played in starting the Forrestal fire where over 130 men died.

Dont believe the articles returned by a Google search that say the fire was caused by an “electrical anomaly.”

Anyone who would cover for McCain is not being honest with themselves or others.

  9. I hate to say it, but now I’m starting to wonder about Mueller’s service record. Probably never know for sure. He was in a better position lock down his narrative than McCain or Kerry.

    2
  10. Although the more I contemplate Mueller, his postwar life of running silent and deep, unlike showboats Kerry and McCain, says to me he probably kept his head down, stuck with the mission and carried his share of the load. I used to think he went over there with an eye on bigger things, like Kerry and McCain did, but now I’m not so sure.

  11. Even since Homer Simpson had not been around back than I have always imagined McCain raising his arms doing the original “woohoo” when he ejected thinking it was a roller coaster ride.

  12. SHAG
President Ron wanted all crooks in Keating 5in Jail! Why Joh always hate Ron. A liberal GOP Sen from KS worked to keep them all out of jail and in the Senate. This leftist GOP was Bob something or other!

IMHO they all should have gone to “Grey Bar Hotel”; why id did not vote GOP in ’96!

  13. Are they done pushing the dirt over that cock sucker’s YUGE head yet?
Probably used a Cat D9 for the job.
I am so tired of McCain.
Our President knew the score, called him on it, Love the man for that.
McCain and Kerry, two peas in a pod of traitors.
Wish I were as confident as @beachmom, look forward to the book.
In the meantime, I will have to be content with dancing on his grave.

  14. This Texan Has Has Enough,

Yeah, what is this about a guest list? Have i been missing something?

I never heard of having to be “invited” to a funeral. In my day, folks went becauae they held the deceased in high esteem….

    ….oh, I see.

    6
  15. And along with all this he also was one of the Keating Five. No one ever held any of them accountable after the dust settled probably partly because John Glenn was also one of them. Best to sweep that mess under the rug and move on. They all get to die heroes, McCain got to run for POTUS and all the people that were hurt in that debacle were left with nothing. Great example of the establishment elites being treated completely differently than anyone running a business.

  16. JM III was pretty much a chip off the old block of his father Admiral JM jr. as compared to his performance & attitude at USNA.

[ it could be that the learned attitude that the rules & commands don’t apply to him is what got him shot down over Hanoi ]

McCain ( jr. ) entered the United States Naval Academy in 1927, at age 16.[3] He disliked the hazing tradition and behavioral restrictions of Annapolis, and accumulated many demerits and earned mediocre grades during his years at the Academy.[3][5]

As one biographer wrote, McCain “was given to taking unauthorized midnight leave and spent much of his four … years in contention with authority and working off massive doses of extra duty.”[7] McCain later stated: “I was known as a ‘ratey’ plebe, and that’s the plebe who does not conform always to the specific rules and regulations of the upperclassmen. Some of these upperclassmen would … require you to do such things which only incited rebellion and mutiny in me, see.”[5]

At one point, McCain had so many demerits he was at risk of not graduating; his partying and drinking was especially dangerous as it was taking place during Prohibition.[5] For much of his final year there, he was banished from Bancroft Hall, the normal residence for midshipmen, and forced instead to live on the barracks ship Reina Mercedes.[2] He graduated in 1931, finishing 423rd out of 441 in class rank, nineteenth from the bottom.[2][8]
