Upper Darby police say they’ve arrested a suspect accused of shooting the owner of a beer distributor.
Pablo Quintanilla, 24, was arrested Monday morning and is being charged with attempted murder.
They say he is the one who opened fire inside the store on the 700 block of Garrett Road on Saturday night.
According to police, Quintanilla is in the country illegally. The native of Honduras was deported from Texas in 2015.
At some point, he returned and was in the country illegally living in New York.
Chief Michael Chitwood says the shooting happened after some sort of dispute.
The 57-year-old owner can be seen on surveillance video confronting a young man who had stolen beer from the store earlier in the night.
Superintendent Michael Chitwood explains what happened next as the suspect got ahold of the owner’s weapon.
“He takes a swing at him and then the gun falls out. Bad guy gets the gun, shoots him, shoots him, shoots him, shoots at him four times,” said Chitwood.
Chitwood says the victim, a Vietnamese immigrant, was simply a hard-working business owner doing his best to protect his livelihood.
“Then some bad guy, some thug who is in here illegally, winds up shooting you and almost killing you,” he said.
“And then the Feds with begin deportation proceedings” How about after about 20 years in prison for attempted murder?
Can we please up the penalty for repeat illegal entry? Like sending them back by catapult? I’m sick and tired of hearing that criminal so and so had been deported two, three, or four times and yet came back to commit a crime in the U.S.
no more deportations- no more jail on our dime- Live on a new T.V. show- Hang”m High..
the nonexistant ‘wisdom’ of George W. Bush comes to mind here….
” The poor fella was just shooting a hardworking LEGAL immigrant Amercans wouldn’t shoot . “
Modern sport shooters could have a real good time if they’d put a bounty on their heads, and the problem would go away quick. And when it does liberals could be next on the list.
