Mom tells her son that the Hershey’s Cocoa is not what he thinks it is. He thinks it’s something delicious and she’s just holding out on him. So she let’s him see for himself.

I love when he spins the container to read it, especially since I don’t think he can read.
When was a kid I would sneak the cocoa and sugar, mix it and eat it dry.
KIs held unto his self respect as long as he could
“Don’t trust and verify at your own peril”
Explains why socialism keeps being tried.
I remember, as a kid, thinking that vanilla tasted so good in shakes that it would taste even better straight from the bottle. Big surprise when I verified that premise! Even today it is so tempting because it smells so yummy when I remove the cap from the bottle
You know those Baker’s chocolate bars that you might find in your mom’s cabinet? The ones that look like a giant Hershey bar? I heard they ain’t worth a damn either.
It’s not food, but I can verify that if you ball up a piece of aluminum foil and bite into it, you’ll get a shock wave sensation run through your head.
I wish I could remember what compelled me to do that.
Kids do the darndest things, to paraphrase Linkletter. Yeah, remember when life was sweet?
I learned the hard way by sneaking my granny’s chocolate ex-lax after she told me it wasn’t candy.
Now the kid will just think his mom put something nasty in the chocolate container and tricked him!
I loved the little *poof* of cocoa when he coughed.
That puff at the end was priceless.
Love how he inspects the container making sure it was, indeed, the same one he’s been eyeing in the cabinet.
Our 3 year old grandson ate a small portion of a Ghiradelli unsweetened baking bar without wincing, but didn’t want more when he finished the small piece for which he asked.
DIL and I almost felt cruel, but we warned him it would be bitter. In defense of his tastebuds, sweets are a rarity in their home, unless homemade AIP compliant.
@Arby
Granny from Beverly Hillbillies told Elle May to put a little dab of “vanilly” behind her ears. Men cannot resist.
I remember verifying her statement.
LOL! 😀
This is the same kid seen in the emergency room, with a burnt hand.
I’m not saying I’m thick headed or anything, but I tried a square of Baker’s chocolate when I was 5 or so (like Col. Angus), and a couple of years later tried it again on the theory that maybe I got a bad one the first time.
I did not however, need or even attempt a second trial after a big spoonful of raw horseradish.
Yup. Me too. A big bite of baking chocolate. A swig of vanilla once. Oh, and I bit off a chunk of cinnamon bark. Then I tried licking the frost off an aluminum ice cube tray. I think that cured my scientific explorations. Really cute kid in the video. Love it!
Video removed. Violates you tubes “terms of service”?
My son did this. He insisted, not believing anything that smelled so good would not meet his expectations. It was hilarious!
That’s how I felt after trying my first Whisky, as a youth. Now I have a different take on it.

🙁
Go to YouTube and put “Hershey’s Cocoa” in the search field. It comes up near the top.
Thanks, Pushy. That’s pretty good. It reminds me of this one:
