Looking at the boards he drove up on I wouldn’t have figured him to be that smart. Hopefully he gets something stouter to drive off his porch. He did good.
If it’s insured, the insurance company should give him a rebate. If not, nicely done!

It looks like he had to remove the couch and any used appliances off the porch first. Give him an A for effort.
Or he could have put his family in the car and driven to a safer place. But this is more entertaining.
Difficult situations call for inventive thinking.

I reminded a friend on the neuse river to leave his elevator in the up position. They hadn’t thought of it.
If I could have gotten my wife’s car up six more inches in Hurricane Harvey, her new Honda CR-V would not have been totaled.
My first thought was, this will be a disaster. But then I realized, in the face of looming danger, he made do with the resources available to him. Sometimes the mechanic in me is screaming “use the right tools for the job”, then I realize that a good share of the world does not have the resources at hand that I do . I say well done, sir.
“They” are so often wrong about things, aren’t “they”? What’s with “them”? Maybe “they” should stop and think before opening “their” mouths.
