Class Action Lawsuit Alleges “All Natural” LaCroix Drink Contains Ingredients Used In Cockroach Insecticide

CBS-

The firm Beaumont Costales, who filed the suit on behalf of Lenora Rice, claimsthat testing reveals that LaCroix contains a number of artificial ingredients, including linalool, which is used in cockroach insecticide.

“The plaintiff Rice, desiring a healthy, natural beverage, was led to purchaseLaCroix sparkling water because of the claims made on its packaging, advertising and web site to be “innocent,” “naturally essenced,” “all natural,” and “always 100% natural.” However, LaCroix in fact contains ingredients that have been identified by the Food and Drug Administration as synthetic. These chemicals include limonene, which can cause kidney toxicity and tumors; linalool propionate, which is used to treat cancer; and linalool, which is used in cockroach insecticide,” the lawsuit states.

  1. “Sparkling” water means it contains KILLER CARBON! Every tiny bubble releases the pollutant CO2, a potent GREENHOUSE GAS into our precious atmosphere, contributing to climate change, global warming, rising sea levels, ocean acidification, coral reef bleaching and death, cute cuddly polar bears to starve to death, and Al Gore’s bank account. STOP THE GAIACIDE!

  2. limonene – oil from lemons and limes.
linalool- naturally occurring terpene alcohol found in many flowers and spice plants. (Wikipedia)

I hope LaCroix files a countersuit and takes every penny from these shysters.

  3. Those ingredients are also in body washes and hair products.
(I do my own research before I buy cosmetics, blah blah blah)

They should sue for the shitty taste, though.
Tastes like baking soda and angst.

  4. @andoneinthechamber:

I for one do not want cockroach in me

Then do yourself a huge favor and never look up the USDA regulation regarding the allowable levels of insect parts in food sold for human consumption. Hint: It’s never zero.

  5. Never heard of it before this post.
    Lawyers are maggots.
The nihilists are starting to eat their own (hopefully).

By the way – dogshit is natural, too – doesn’t mean I want it in my food.
The people on these “natural” and “organic” kicks really deserve whatever they get – fuckin morons.
