Perhaps the best known work by the famous street artist Banksy titled “Girl With a Balloon” was sold at auction for roughly $1.3 million at Southeby’s in London recently.
Once the winning bid had been submitted, a shredder hidden in the frame of the painting activated, slicing the work into multiple pieces.
Art experts estimate that the stunt doubled the value of the artwork. More

I guess art forgers will have a hard time trying to recreate this work. Was Southeby’s in on the it? Does the creator have the right to massively alter the work after it’s been purchased?
Too bad Picasso never thought of that.
