Professor Says If You See Republican Senators in a Restaurant, “Stick your fingers in their salad”

Tammy Bruce-

The University of Mississippi has condemned a tweet by a faculty member that called on activists to abandon civility and harass Republican senators in public.

“Don’t just interrupt a Senator’s meal, y’all,” James Thomas, an assistant professor of sociology, tweeted from his @Insurgent_Prof account on Oct. 6, the day Justice Brett Kavanaugh was sworn into the Supreme Court.

“Put your whole damn fingers in their salads,” he wrote. “Take their apps and distribute them to the other diners. Bring boxes and take their food home with you on the way out. They don’t deserve your civility.”

Without specifically naming Mr. Thomas, Ole Miss Chancellor Jeffrey Vitter issued a statement Sunday condemning a “recent social media post by a UM faculty member,” Campus Reform reported.

“A recent social media post by a UM faculty member did not reflect the values articulated by the university, such as respect for the dignity of each individual and civility and fairness,” Mr. Vitter wrote. “While I passionately support free speech, I condemn statements that encourage acts of aggression. I urge all members of the Ole Miss community to demonstrate civility and respect for others and to honor the ideal of diversity of thought that is a foundational element of the academy.”….

  1. This is why I don’t like to eat out anymore. Too many freaks in the hospitality business. A few weeks ago, I decided to stop at a Steak & Shake for something to eat for lunch on my 15 mile ride down the interstate.

The dude that handed me the food through the window had 1″ long pointy fingernails that were all painted different colors with designs on them. His hair and voice was even worse.

A half mile down the road, going down the on ramp, I threw the whole bag out the window.

It was a $5 lunch, I’m not going to risk it.

  2. The real problem is, how are they going to infallibly know who is or is not a Republican? Most don’t walk around wearing Maga hats. But to ask that question is to answer it. This is just another communist excuse for social disorder.

  3. Seriously officer, I was stabbing at a tomato when this fool stuck his hand in my salad. That’s how he got a fork through his hand, I swear.

These “insurgents” aren’t really thinking this all the way through.

“James M. Thomas (JT) is an Assistant Professor of Sociology. Dr. Thomas received his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri in 2011. His research to date bridges the fields of critical race studies, the sociology of everyday life, and cultural theory and inquiry. Throughout, Dr. Thomas employs a variety of qualitative methods, including historical, ethnographic, and textual analysis, to illuminate the histories of racial formations and racisms, and the role of popular cultural forms and ideas in the ongoing production of embodied difference. Broadly, Dr. Thomas’s scholarship aims to illuminate ‘phenomenologies of power’ or, how a social milieu of interrelated historical, social, and cultural practices bind subjects to one another, and shape subsequent action.”

  5. Last week, I was in southern minnisota at a restaurant associated with-redacted-. there was a young person who said it was offended by the patches on my jacket and I would have to remove the jacket in order to be served. so I removed the jacket to make it a happier person. then it noticed the lifetime NRA member logo on my shirt and became indignant. at which point I rose up from my chair to leave that business with my money. sadly, the table flew up and smacked to the wait staff member knocking down two chairs on its way to the floor. the manager rushed to the scene to find me screaming about the hot coffee in my lap(!) and how I shall file suit. the restaurant gladly paid the dry cleaning bill. I sought my meal from a different venue.
One should not have to accept vile behavior from those you are paying for some type of service. ever.

  7. I wonder if that academic asswipe ever has published an article on the phenomenological, qualitative analysis of broken fingers – and possibly some facial bones? If he keeps that up, much of his research should be done in short order.

  8. Why doesn’t the University suspend him without pay for one semester, In addition ha can’t go on campus for the duration of his suspension and when he does comeback to work his classes will be monitored by another professor (who does not have contact with).
