Abortion clinics and advocates are worried. Shelley Shannon is out of prison. She was convicted of attempted murder of the infamous George Tiller, one of the few people in America who was psychopathic enough to perform 3rd trimester murders on viable human beings.
About the third trimester:
How big will my baby grow during the third trimester?
As your baby grows, they add layers of fat to provide warmth after birth. The fat fills the extra space under the skin, making the skin less wrinkled. At birth, most babies weigh between 6 and 9 pounds. They are usually between 19 and 21 inches long.
Other highlights of the third trimester:
- By the end of the third trimester, your baby has eyelashes and eyebrows. They may have a full head of hair or be bald. Nails have grown to the tips of the fingers and toes.
- The white waxy substance and fine hair that covered and protected your baby’s skin has begun to fall off. You may see some of the leftover hair after your baby is born. Most of this usually is gone within the first few weeks of life.
- Most babies move to a head-down position in the uterus toward the end, with the head on the mother’s pubic bone.
- The lungs are the last major organ to finish developing. When fully mature, they produce a chemical that affects the hormones in your body. Doctors are not sure why labor starts, but this chemical may be one of the causes.
Things to consider
Will my baby be big enough to survive if they are born before my due date?
Your due date is an estimate. Only 5 percent of babies are born on their actual due dates. Your baby is “full-term” (not premature) if they are born during or after week 37. If this is your first pregnancy, your baby is likely to be born after your due date.
If your baby is born earlier, near the beginning of the third trimester, they are likely to survive. However, the longer the baby is in your womb, the better.
!snip!
I’m not advocating violence. Of course, that includes killing babies that are viable.
A woman who shot late-term abortion doctor George Tiller was released from custody Wednesday, putting abortion clinics on edge as they warn other facilities to take precautions against what they see as a possible threat.
“We’re extremely concerned,” Feminist Majority Foundation Executive Director Katherine Spillar said, according to The Wichita Eagle. “We’re alerting providers, briefing them and making sure they have enough security precautions in place.”
Oregon resident Rachelle “Shelley” Shannon shot Tiller in both arms in 1993 and was arrested that year. Shannon, now 62, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for attempted murder. She was also sentenced in 1995 to 20 years for two acid attacks and six firebombing attacks on abortion clinics in Oregon, California and Nevada, according to The Eagle.
She was released Wednesday after serving 25 years in prison for her multiple felonies.
“Shelley Shannon’s release absolutely makes us nervous,” said the interim president and CEO of the National Abortion Federation, Katherine H. Ragsdale, according to The Eagle. “She’s not only committed multiple acts of violence herself, but has encouraged violence in others.”
Shannon will remain on supervised release for three years, according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons that confirmed her release Wednesday.
At the time of the shooting, Tiller was one of the only doctors in America who performed third trimester abortions.
Hey! now she can vote! Right??
Wow, bet this causes the price of baby parts to shoot up!
She should set up a go fund me account to help her get on her feet.
Farmwife, YES, good comment. I don’t remember any particulars of the case, but I wonder if she was P-A herself.
BTW, I am sorry for my comments back a few weeks ago regarding the plight of farmers. I have no excuse except for my obtuseness. DH told me about the problems one of his poll co-workers face with trying to make a decent living and stay above water on their 700 acre farm.
I apologize, and will try to think more before I type.
I really feel sorry for her, but she’d better have learned to control herself in prison. Killing or harming the baby murderers just makes them look like victims.
@PJ Thank You I appreciate that!
Funny how her release is making the abortion foundation put out security precautions but where is the security for those babies?
Farmwife, I spent 10 years, 5 times a month in front of PP. Prior to that, about 1 1/2 years Christian Sidewalk Counseling and doing volunteer PR for a CPC. I later spent nearly 10 years studying for and running the diocesan program for healing after abortion as a volunteer.
It is amazing how many post abortive people go off the deep end after abortions, unless they have turned to God. It is also easy for people who have had loved ones who procured abortions, to go over the edge. One father who’s wife or girlfriend had an abortion actually committed suicide in front of an abortuary. Of course the media had no idea of a motive.
Those of us who were on the front lines used to always remark how the guilty fled when no one pursued. PP was always calling the LEOs on us for thing made up in their imagination.
Once when my youngest son was with me when he was about 12-13, Pp called the LEOs on my son saying he was taking photographs of their place. Someone actually saw him take his sunglasses out of the case, put them on, and change his mind and put them in his pocket. He did not even have a camera.
