Jeff Sessions Is Out- What Took Trump So Long?

President Trump “resigned” his Attorney General, Jeff Sessions. Scott Ott asks Bill Whittle what took him so long? Bill doesn’t think Sessions got fired because he recused himself from the Russia collusion probe. What’s the real reason?

  1. Firing? Or reassignment?

Timestamp. Look to the East at dawn of the third day.

    What’s to the East? THINK.

    Utah? Perhaps.

The riders of Rohan come to our aid astride mighty subpoenas within subpoenas, led by the white wizard.

What color is Session’s hair? THINK.

    Timing is all.

    Triangulation?

    Or QUADRANGULATION?

    Therein is our hope.

  2. What took so long is right. I like the looks of Matthew Whitaker, I hope he is as effective as his Mr. Clean look. There is speculation as to who Trump will appoint as full time AG, if Whitaker does a good job I like who we have now.

  4. If he fired him before the election, every close race Republican would have been hammered as to whether they would allow the vaunted Mueller investigation to continue.

Waiting was absolutely the right thing to do. The day after? Boom. Take a hike, fuck-O. Go do something useful like holding the front porch down with your rocking chair.

  5. Trump initially made an error in picking Sessions. Sessions is a Deep State creature. I doubt he schemed to be subversive vis a vis Trump; most likely (just like the rest of the smiling RINOs immediately post-2016 — remember Ryan?), he thought that once he got into office it would just be Washington business as usual and Trump would fall into line.

The job — at least the job Trump and his supporters expected — also was way over Sessions’s head. Incompetent to do it.

Trump didn’t fall into line, didn’t settle in, and even started canning the insiders. The screws were put to Sessions (blackmail so to speak, but we don’t know what over).

If you remember, Sessions did offer to resign very very early on in the administration, but at that time Trump was still getting his bearings, having extreme difficulty getting positions filled, and had a huge and necessary to-do list on his plate.

Subsequently Sessions refused to resign, even though he repeatedly was “asked” indirectly to do so. Trump could NOT just “fire” him — he would have got huge backlash and would have been unable to replace him, having to get nominee approved by the Senate.

Inasmuch as Trump now has had two years to boost the economy, take on trade deals, cut regulations, get people into place, get his military funding, and accomplish the myriad things he accomplished, and then (we think) reinforce his Senate position in last week’s election, he’s now in a position to take on this fight. What is so hard to understand?

Now all this still doesn’t necessarily mean that the immediate and highest priority is putting people in prison. I want to see it, ’cause I’m vindictive and I also think that without consequences, the corruption won’t end.

But people, Trump can only work 1200 minutes a day! He’s not magic.
