There are many more offers HERE
I didn’t see Ben & Jerry’s or The Red Hen on that list.
Didn’t see Chik-fil-A either, they are closed Sunday, every Sunday.
Had the BOGO prime rib at Boston Market last night. Excellent.
Hmm. I am a veteran. I signed up for VA benefits a couple of years ago, but at a location where they did not make photos ID cards. I’ve been foot dragging about making the 200 mile round trip to a VA Med Center where I could have a photo ID made.
Several stores will give discounts to veterans, but recently several of them have started requiring a VA photo ID, the DD214 is no longer accepted. (too many forgeries I think).
Last week I finally made the long drive to a VA facility where I can have the photo ID made. [My wife wants a new refrigerator and wants the VA discount offered by some companies that sell them.] Only to be told that while they find my name in their system. I am have not been approved for VA benefits because my income is too high.
Unless I can show, for example, that last year I had out of pocket healthcare cost of about $12k if my income were $55k. And since I am not qualified for VA benefits I am also not qualified to have a photo ID made.
I guess you are only recognized as a veteran if you did do very well financially after discharge (and I am no longer working I retired four years ago ) or have large medical cost. Caught me quite by surprise. I had been sent some kind of VA card with my name on it, but they said it is a card sent out by a VA contract company that has caused a lot of problems with other vets who also thought it was proof they were successfully enrolled for coverage. They said I could reapply, and see if they make a different decision. Which I may do, but my income is the same now as it was four years ago. Why would it change.
I thought all veterans are veterans. Guess not.
However, three years ago on Veterans Day by chance I went into an Applebees, they asked if I was a vet, why yes I am, I got a free meal.
